Three weeks ago LSU was 23-16-1 and in 11th place in the SEC. After a third consecutive SEC sweep LSU is now 35-16-1 and has the 2nd overall best conference record in the SEC. That's 12 games in a row! LSU has put itself in a great position to host a regional, but let's not cut it off right there just yet... If LSU wins out in the regular season and sweeps through the SEC tournament, that would put LSU at 43-16-1 with a 20 game win streak. LSU would have a great RPI, a good resume of wins, and a pretty good record... along with the SEC tournament championship which the selection committee puts A LOT of consideration in. And I mean A LOT. They love to seed the champions high. The point I'm making here is that if LSU wins out, they could be, it's a high possibility, of them getting a national seed which would allow them to host a super regional also. I know some of you reading this are thinking, "not a chance, buddy" but if you think about it then you'll see that this has a good chance of happening. I'm smelling a national seed for LSU!

Of course this is a possibility...But not a strong one.
The Georgia Bulldogs are still the best team in the conference...And they showed you that before your hot streak began when they swept you in Baton Rouge.
Georgia has the best pitching in the conferenceand the most intimidating hitter in college baseball...So I still like them to double up with the regular and tournament SEC titles...And LSU will host a regional, but not a super.

Hello lesmiles55,
Just would like to let you know a few things. First of all, building a brand new ball park always helps out. You do not think LSU was going to build a new ball park and have it half empty, did you. I will let you in on a little secret. It is all about who brings the most people to the park. Do you really believe that LSU deserved to be host to every regional back in the 90's and 2000's? The NCAA pretty much knows right now who the 16 regional host will be and the top 8 seeds. But you are right on one thing, it would not surprise me one bit for LSU to get a national seed. The NCAA will make sure LSU ends up hosting a super regional one way or the other. They will have the easiest regional and the team on the other side of the bracket (National Seed, Rice probably) will lose in their regional putting LSU hosting a super regional. Because you know LSU cannot go on the road and win a super regional. It's kind of like football. The NCAA knows LSU cannot go on the road and win a BCS game so they fix it up where LSU plays in the Superdome against the worst possible team left in the top 10. LSU was given 2 BCS championships. I know I am a gamble. Won big money on LSU.

Hope you are right, 55.
LSU baseball is great right now. If they beat Tulane and sweep Auburn this week, I don't doubt they can win the SEC tournament. Sure is great to see them doing well.

Taco,
Boy, you are dumb. First off, our new field won't be ready until NEXT season, so that blows one of your little theorys out of the water. As for your second point...with national championships in '91 '93 '96 '97 & 2000.....I'd say yes we did deserve to host every regional.

Now let's see if LSU can make it 15 in a row with another win over Auburn tonight. I still think with the way they're playing that LSU has a great chance of winning the SEC tournament. Also remember if they sweep Auburn and go straight through the tournament it'll be 20 straight wins for LSU. With a Western Division championship, an SEC tournament championship, the win streak, and a pretty good record, I think LSU has a great shot of getting a National seed and getting the chance to host a Super Regional also. Of course they must keep winning... Right now LSU is a lock to host a Regional, but if they can keep the streak alive I think hosting a Super Regional is in the future for LSU.
