..wow. wow. wow. wow. wow. WOW.
That is totally crazy, and I know it's just the reporter's side of the story but you gotta wonder if perhaps atlanta dumped a diva? That was CRAZY!!!
He keeps up that attitude this will be his last contract in major league baseball, and that's sad. Two years ago he was totally on the track for the hall of fame. 2005's 50 hr season was the worst thing that could have ever happened to him.

I think Andruw Jones is learning the difference in the media market of Atlanta vs that of Los Angeles. I wonder if maybe Andruw was just never asked questions like this in ATL. Maybe he just didn't know how to answer the questions.
I don't wanna make excuses for him, because he really comes off like an a$$ in this column. This just doesn't sound like the Andruw we all knew and loved back in ATL. He definitely could use to get into a little better shape though. I kinda figured he'd wanna show up in a new town trimmer. But, I was wrong and thus far he has stunk it up big time in one of the biggest media markets in the country.

i think the columnist came off as a jerk more than jones. when you act like a jerk and ask a$$ hole questions, you get those kind of responses regardless of the player. the guy is acting like a baby crying that jones isn't producing after only one month in L.A . who gives these guys jobs, he probably never got picked on a team when he was little and had to resort to calling players fat in semi-news articles because he has no athletic ability himself, nor from the article any journalistic integrity. what a complete jerk off.

Such is the life of playing ball in a major media market.
However when you are making the money Andruw is and 1 1/2 months into the season you are hitting around .170 with 1 HR and 5 RBIs people are gonna be looking for a reason why. Andruw Jones after last year and the start of this year should be expecting to be questioned about things.
I hope for his sake that Andruw can get things turned around

I've never really understood why it should be so difficult for someone like Andruw, who is stinking it up at the plate yet earning over $18 million a year, to say something along the lines of "I'm sorry I'm not playing well, but I'm giving it my best shot and I'm confident things will come around and that I'll be able to help the Dodgers and make the fans happy".
What does it cost to say somethign like that??? A bit of humility? The Dodgers are a multi-million dollar organisation. Surely they can afford to give Andruw a bit of coaching in media relations? And surely Andruw is not dumb enough to think that he won't get punished in the media for acting like a sulky little kid!
Don't get me wrong, I loved him in a Braves uniform, and I also don't believe too much I read in the papers and particularly in sports columns, but as they say, there ain't no smoke without fire and unfortunately all of the circumstantial evidence points to this article being accurate about Andruw's current attitude.

Ya I really wanted to pin this on the reporter for being a jerk, but the guy is apparently being paied the highest single season salery in the history of the Dodgers and producing horrid numbers while being out of shape. I know the author of the artical was a bit mean and jerkish but like someone else on this thread said, what does it really take for Andruw to say something like "I know I havent performed well and I am doing my best to fix that for the better of the team..." instead all he gave was "I dont care" I mean come on...

If this is the first TJ Simers article you've ever read, then yeah, I'm sure Andruw does come off a little rough.
If you have any idea of how Simers treats athletes in general, and how he's viewed in Los Angeles, this article comes to no surprise at all. If it's all real, then kudos to Andruw Jones for talking to this guy the way he did. That's pretty hilarious.
No kudos to Andruw Jones, however, for sucking at the art of hitting this year.

Wow is right. That guy is a total ass. Why the hell would Jones even talk to him. There is no reason for some of things to be said. If that reporter really gives a damn about the Dodgers baseball team he prolly wouldnt act like that towards one of their players and should instead try to incourage him. What am I thinking though... this is America.
