The All-Star ballots are out, but it seems like we can never vote for pitchers in the respective leagues, so I want to find out who do you think should represent the AL's and NL's pitching staffs ?? This is my 10 pitchers (5 starters, 5 relievers) for both leagues:

American League

SP

  1. Chien Ming Wang (Yankees)
  2. Cliff Lee (Indians)
  3. Josh Beckett (Red Sox)
  4. James Shields (Rays)
  5. Ervin Santana (Angels)

RP

  1. Mariano Rivera (Yankees)
  2. Jonathan Papelbon (Red Sox)
  3. Joba Chamberlain (Yankees)
  4. Joe Nathan (Twins)
  5. Francisco Rodriguez (Angels)

Honorable Mention : A. J Burnett and Roy Halladay (Blue Jays), Joe Saunders (Angels), Bobby Jenks (White Sox), Dice-K (Red Sox), Joaquin Soria (Royals)

National League

SP

  1. Brandon Webb (Diamondbacks)
  2. Jake Peavy (Padres)
  3. Johan Santana (Mets)
  4. Dan Haren (Diamondbacks)
  5. Tim Lincecum (Giants)

RP

  1. Billy Wagner (Mets)
  2. Brandon Lyon (Diamondbacks)
  3. Brian Wilson (Giants)
  4. Takashi Saito (Dodgers)
  5. Kerry Wood (Cubs)

Honorable Mention: John Maine (Mets), Edison Volquez (Reds), Scott Olsen and Mark Hendrickson (Marlins), Carlos Zambrano (Cubs), Micah Owings (Diamondbacks), Cole Hamels (Phillies),

Cliff Lee vs. Brandon Webb in 2008 All-Star Game in NYC July 15th

Edinson Volquez should be in the starting rotation...he only leads the NL in ERA at 1.06 and is 1 behind the SO leader with 52...

I did give Volquez consideration but I went with Lincecum because he had been dominant so far too (5-1) with 1.81 ERA.

A.J. Burnett has been awful this season and won't even be considered unless he has some kind of amazing May and June before the ballots are decided. If any Blue Jays pitcher is going, it would be Shaun Marcum. Also, Ownings ERA has shot up his few last starts and is now over 4, while Adam Wainwright is quietly having a solid season, and his ERA is around 2. I don't think Kerry Wood will be there either, probably Brad Lidge, who is pitching great in Philadelphia right now. Everyone else made sense.

I want to see Carlos Marmol make it from Chicago. He has been nothing short of ridiculous this season.

1.13 ERA, 24 IP, 32 K's, 10 Hits allowed, 9 Holds, 2 Saves

Are W-L records factored in too? Because Volquez is 5-1. He also hasn't allowed more than 5 hits (3 times) and 1 earned run in any start this season. I don't know how you can be more dominant than that.

Oh yeah, and he's also only struck out fewer than 7 batters in a game once.
