Okay, it is crystal clear to me that you (and probably the vast majority of the Steelers fans) feel that Ben is a franchise quarterback.  Looking at his body of work in his career, I really can't try to dispute that. He performs when it matters.  He makes this team better.  If that isn't a franchise passer, I don't know what is.

Whoa there Mano.  Easy there big boy  . . . I all ready said that I can't (read: won't) dispute that.  I'm not here trying to diss Ben Roethlisberger.  So far we are both in agreement that over the past four years, (a) the Steelers have had a balanced offense and (b) that they have had one of the top, if not the top, defenses in the NFL.

Without dragging this thing out until Thanksgiving, I think we will also both agree that one unit (ie: offense) can make the other unit (ie: defense) better or worse depending upon how they perform.  I'm not talking about individual players here, I'm talking about an entire offensive or defensive unit.

Are we still in agreement ? ? ?

I never said all your moves are bad. Jeez, I said I think you overpaid for Rogers and I don't think Quinn is all that. Even saying that I don't think drafting him was a bad move. You guys needed a QB and at that spot in the draft he was a value pick.

I applauded Braylon and Kellen Jr. Those were A++++ picks. Joe Thomas A+++. I'm not allowed to think Rogers was a bust? Dude that's just how I feel. If he proves me wrong it will make you feel twice as good as long as this thread has gone on. I'm doing you a favor!

Paid Roehtlisberger too much? Not in a million years. He is the leader of our football team. He's proven he can win and he's tough as nails. How many QBs in the league could go head on with a Buick and start a football game 3 months later? Okay just kidding there but he takes some shots and keeps ticking! Not sure where Chokelburger comes from. Evidently you don't watch many Steelers games.

Hanging your hat on a game in 1999? I kinda feel sorry for you now.

WOMANOSTEEL - "You're kidding, right?  Cleveland isn't the only team that plays in bad weather in November and December.  Ben's stats didn't suffer.  Brady's stats didn't suffer.
It was windy for the Cincy game, but that is no excuse for throwing 4 INTs.  Decision making is a part of being an NFL QB.  I happened to watch the majority of that game and DA made bad decision after bad decision.  If the weather makes it difficult to throw the ball down field, then you check down to the underneath routes.  If you don't have anything, you throw the ball away.  4 INTs in a game that is a must win to make the playoffs is inexcusable.  The same way it was inexcusable for Ben to throw 3 INTs in the first half of the Wildcard game.
"

You are an idiot...  If you don't think that weather affects quarterbacks throwing the ball, then you are a complete inbred...  And I wasn't using it as an excuse, I was simply stating a fact...  If you honestly think that Cleveland's game that they played in a SNOWSTORM (I forget who the opponent way) had no affect on the QBs ability to grip the ball, then you don't deserve to be on these boards...  Typical Steelers fan though, lots of talk and few braincells...

Hey Bean...don't forget about Drew Brees!  I'm not sure about the fanchise QB thing but Brees sure can light it up sometimes.  I've just never been sold into the hype that QB's are the be all and end all of any team.  Very, very important but football to me is the ultimate team sport!  Without the other part's it breaks down and the QB is the first to shoulder the blame because he's alway placed so high on the pedestal.   When I say team, I mean everybody including coach's and front office personel.  As a die hard Ravens fan I can tell you that nothing irritates me more then the fact that Phil Savage went, of all places, to an AFC North rival so now I got to deal with his handiwork in creating the type of team that only someone from the "Ozzy tree" can.

Yeah he is very good, didn't even think of him. He's fun to watch, maybe Ben slides down a little farther, that's good making that post kinda made me sick a little.

As a die hard Ravens fan I can tell you that nothing irritates me more then the fact that Phil Savage went, of all places, to an AFC North rival so now I got to deal with his handiwork in creating the type of team that only someone from the "Ozzy tree" canHoping he can keep it up, so far it looks like he's taken alot of what they did in B-more and put into work in Cleveland..
