I think Bama can contend for the SEC West, they lost a lot of games close and if they win some of those they have a chance. JPW also has to play better, then last year.

Good list... interesting at the top with Mizzou at #1, but I guess it could happen. I would put VT lower, USF lower, and Tenn higher. I'd probably put Clemson lower and Rutgers higher as well.

Percy! Rutgers at 23! Didn't you hear they lost Ray Rice? Schiano announced at a press conference that Rutgers isn't playing this year because it's impossible to replace him.
QB with talent on the edges. Schiano's a solid coach as well. They don't need a star like Ray Rice to make the top 25 poll at seasons end.

Look at their schedule.
2 maybe 3 losses tops.
Are their 9 better teams than VT in 08? Ofcourse.

Badger, that exactly my thoughts on us this year, but Im not saying anything about our team yet. We do have some guys on the roster right now who can be decent recievers, but our good recievers will have to come from the recruiting class. Julio Jones will have to be this season's Michael Crabtree for Bama to make it to ATL for a second time. JPW played well last year, it was his consistency that was lacking. McElwain is suppose to help that, so Bama's fate basically rests on the immediate impact of the freshman class plus we must avoid injury. Its another year or two before the depth will be at every position, but this recruiting class helps in that department. However, even after all that, Im still sticking by my claim that the West will come down to T-town on Nov. 29th. If things go "right", look for Bama to be 5-2 in the SEC and Auburn to be 5-2 or 6-1 and LSU to be 4-3 by that point.

so we all know who everyones bold prediciton is, but who is everyone sleeper? i would hardly say they were a sleeper, but with the loss of troy smith, anthony gonzalez, tedd ginn, and antonio pittman, i think ohio state was one of those sleeper teams last year. so this year, who could run the table and stun the nation?

Percy,
Good poll...As good as any others. I like the fact that you have my Mountaineers in the top 10. Many people have them dropping to the 15 to 20 range simply because they lost RR. People forget that that guy who wears #5 and that other guy who wears #7 are back. I am not one of the WVU fans who are going to say, look what we did in the Fiesta bowl...we should be #1. I think that we are a top 10 team and if things fall into place, we could be in the BCS title game. (the same could be said for about 10 other teams as well.)
Overall, good poll, and ballsy pick with Mizzou.
