There's a lot of negativity on these boards and otherwise about our beloved Reds, and mostly rightfully so.  I, for one, am disgusted thus far with the management by Busty Faker.  However...

This week we; took two of three from the Cubs (how can you not love that?!), saw Votto hit three homers in a game, Arroyo had a terrific game against a powerful Mets team, Keppinger is still hot, Hatteberg came out of a funk to have a great game against the Mets, and the Reds hit 7 homers in one game, including 4 in one inning!  All those commas I think should be semi-colons, but I've got only one healthy hand right now.

So in all, the Reds started to actually show signs of life this week after a tough series in Thuglanta.  We are still in a tough part of the schedule with a pretty scrappy Marlins team and Cleveland coming up this week.  I think playing Cleveland, or any AL team is a ridiculous load of horse crap, but that's for another thread which I will explain some other time.  I know it's easy to get down, I'm one of the biggest doom-sayers here, but there are signs that things could get better.  We'll just see!

Go Reds!

Hey hoser fan your about as clueless as Baker and the rest of The Reds management. What part of inconsistency don't you understand. When you stop polishing your helmet with your other hand and wake up you will soon learn that nothing will change with the makeup of this team until the jockey starts to make some trades.

Sorry about adding to the negativity, but we also dumped two of three to the Mets...ugh.

We get one pitcher to step up his game and then another tanks... Edison needs to quit going to his curve so much and remember that he has a 95 mph fastball in his arsenal.

There is too much talent here to be playing 8 games under .500.  The "players coach" that is Dusty Baker needs to get on some @ss and bench the guys who are not getting it done...or Dunn I should say maybe.

Hey, Brian, I understand where you're coming from, but you need to be a little more gentle in your criticism.

Hoos is a good contributor on this Board. He takes the good with the bad, which we've all seen plenty of lately, and he generally tries to come down in the middle somewhere.

We CAN disagree without being disagreeable. Please keep that in mind.

Iggy

Since you want to make it personal, that's fine.  You're the one who either can't read or you have a very short term memory because I said in the first paragraph that I'm disgusted with the Reds' play to this point.  My overall point was that some positive things happened this week that the Reds could build on.  I think Busty is too much of an idiot to do that, but instead of whining and complaining all the time, I would bring those up.

Now that it's personal...you want to tell me I'm clueless?  I'll take on any baseball knowledge trivia/challenge whatever you want, at any time.  I've played and studied the game probably longer than you've been alive, based on your posts.

Brian also thinks that Jay Bruce AND Homer Bailey shouldn't be brought up...just my 2 cents...

Hey Iggy your right i shouldn't take it out on anyone here. I just don't agree with his take. Yes there is always some sort of positive you can take from just about every game the Reds play, however there is to much negative and alot more inconsistent play from this team to think it will get better with the team that the Reds put out here.

So i will apologize to Hoos.

Hoos i also have played the game and have been around baseball all my life.  I know the game pretty well myself

BRIANT SL,

Apology accepted.  Just please watch who you direct aggression on here.  Some guys will come at you a lot harder than I ever would.  But, we're cool now as far as I'm concerned.

Chillax Guys!  Geez...the Reds imploding and us fans?  C'mon we are in this together.

IMO, great thread.  Hoos has a lot of great insights and catches all the good and bad points.  I was thinking the same about the positive myself.  Votto 3hr game.  Kepp is just unbelievable ho
