wow another idiotic post by bmdeike, didnt i tell you to keep your day job and quit posting you idiot, oh yea you got pwned on that last post, dont make me put in the link again to the vid of the guy talkin sports outta his ass, cuz thats all you dom maybe you should watch sportscenter idiot...
Ne ways, Ben Wallace has had injury problems all year especially since we got him, which hasnt helped the cavs, but I would take a four-time defensive player of the year over mr. inconsistent Drew Gooden...ben wallace, at his best, was the best defender in the league, now no one is sayin he is near that level now, he certainly has lost a step, but what he brings to the cavs is a ton of playoff experience and a ring, the guy flat out knows what it takes...now drew gooden, when he is on his game, has great stuff and can have great games, like 24 pts 15 reb, but that happens as frequently as Larry Hughes havin a good game...bottomline, hughes and gooden are too inconsistent...
If you watched the playoffs last year, drew gooden didnt show up, he would have been better on the couch than on the cavs, King James did it all by himself, and you bmdeike, as a Pistons fan should know that...the cavs made a smart move in getting a tough, defensive player, with a lot of playoff experience for a guy who has proven time and time again that LeBron can not count on him
So, I am happy to have wallace over gooden...hopefully he can come back and make an impact on this series, we could sure use his defensive tenacity
Please stop posting stupid threads bmdeike...we get it youre a pistons fan, we get it you hate the cavs & LeBron, we get it that youre still sore about King James single-handedly beating your pistons, we get it already!!!
Stop posting and keep your day job idiot...
P.S. you better hope billups can get back on the court cuz without him your Pistons lose 3 more and head home...usually you dont want to see an injury to such a key player that it ends the teams playoff chances, but IMO, it couldnt happen to a more deserving team with such deserving, idiot fans...

You gotta be kidding me.
Ben Wallace was good player and a great defender because of his athletic talents and hustle. That's it. He never had any basketball skills- no jumper, no touch, no offensive moves. I loved him in Detroit, but his last year here, you could see he was losing a step. Once he couldn't out-quick and out-jump people, he was useless.
The only thing dumber than Chicago giving him a big 4 year deal was Cleveland trading for him. Now the Cavs are stuck with that big salary

Are you serious about Wallace? He has sucked since he left Detroit and he was as instrumental in that playoff run as you and I are in the sports writing world. Good he has a ring, what is that doing now. Costing the Cavaliers luxury tax money towards next year's salary cap.
If you watch the games when he plays, he can barely jump, lord knows he can't shoot, and has cast iron hands. He is getting abused out there. I would much rather have Gooden's 12 pts and 8 rebs than 0 and 10 rebs from Wallace. He is a sliver of the Defensive Player of the Year he once was. Gooden could do the same thing that he is doing now and at least contribute on the other end of the floor. I will admit I liked the trade when it happened...I was excited. But time tells all and that trade was awful, aside from West who can play the point and occasionaly shoot. That is the only bright spot.
I get it....Make the trade to make Lebron happy. But who is happy now. Every game the Cavs lose is just one game closer or one game that influences his decision in 2010 when his contract is up. Quit getting has beens and bums around this guy. I love the Cavs dont get me wrong but this team is hard to watch. Especially the first two games of this series. They better do something in the offseason to get some talent around Lebron or we will have to enjoy the little time we have left with the King.

Cavs fan here. I completely agree with the second half of the posts. I didn't like the Wallace part of the trade from the beginning.
However, I was all for Wally, Delonte and Joe coming over. I thought Wally would help with the outside shooting--along with Delonte--Joe would give us some mid range game to break any zones that Lebron faced and Delonte would help us at the point.
When all three are on, it works. The problem is that all three are rarely on. They have become just an inconsistent as Drew and Larry.
My only question for this trade was all those who thought this was making our defense better. I guess Ben coming over was a step up from Drew's defense, but overall, I think it's tough to say Wally is an upgrade from Larry. Larry always guarded and locked down the other team's best player and we don't have anyone like that except Lebron now. I just hope the shooting picks up, but until we find a post presence (which Z is not--he's essentially an outside shooter now), the C's will have an easy time defending. Regardless, I trust in Lebron: Go Cavs!

You know mcDevitt, it seems like you have an agenda to just attack people for some reason. I don't think I know you, have ever met you, or could even use the six steps of Kevin Bacon to relate to you. But apparently you take any comment about your team with such a hostile attitude that you find the need to "pwn" people. (For the record, is that puh-won, pw-in, po-own? How do you say that? And if you could clue me in as to how it is devastating to do that to someone.) To comment on the real reason I posted this thread, I find Gooden to be a much more all-around player than Wallace, especially offensively, where Wallace's main faults lay. That and he has lost some hustle and while he can still collect rebounds, his approach is more of a slow big man than the undersized center he used to be. I guess your answer then is No, you don't want Gooden over Wallace, which is all you could have said instead of starting on a abusive tangent toward my day job and my - in your opinion - hurt feelings over last years playoffs. It's all good buddy. I hope you keep your day job. I never commented poorly on last years playoffs as the better team won. I generally don't use negativity unless stupidity encourages it. I'm not a negative person. So, I guess continue to "pwn" (pe-wen, pu-wain?) me if it makes you feel better. I think I can handle it. It is exacerbating for sure, but it won't destroy my psyche. For the record, I think trading for Wallace was a terrible move, but one that "King" James pushed for. Hopefully he can turn the ship around and prove that it was his supporting cast that let him down, because otherwise it's all on his shoulders.

wow bmdeike, im really surprised you responded, after you got pwned on that last post i was sure i would never hear from you again,im glad you responded tho....
First of all, clearly you arent up to date on lingo, you should try urban dictionary, i cant believe youve never heard someone say "pwned", you must either live in a shell or your parents basement, but FYI:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pwned
Now, to the bs of your post...I dont like you because of not only you, but all the fans like you that talk crap about LeBron, i have read a few of your past posts from your profile page and its all the same bs, LeBron sucks, he complains to much, the cavs suck, the trade was bad, blah blah blah blah blah, thats why i dont like you...
As i said, it is clear you dont like the Cavs & LeBron and every chance you get you bash the Cavs...youre a punk...now about the trade, it was done first and foremost to please LeBron, second to make us better...i think it did both...
Gooden is better than Wallace offensively, Gooden has never close in defensive skill to Wallace, even know...Wallace rebounds about the same, but gets more blocks and steals, and is more of an inside presence, plays tough all the time, and brings knowledge and experience...im sure when he was on the Pistons you loved him, now that was long ago and his skill has dropped significantly from his pistons days, but he still can play, certainly not worth his contract, but neither was Larry Hughes...
Gooden was inconsistent in the playoffs last year and the regular season, he will have his 24 pt 15 reb nites, hes a good player, i liked him and it was sad to see him go, but we got wallace for defense, not offense, the trade was designed to give up offense for defense in Wallace, thats why we got szczerbiak, west, and smith for offense...you must remember that we gave up 6 guys (gooden, hughes, and 4 worthless benchwarmers) for 3 starters and a major guy off the bench...so you could look at it this way...gooden for wallace then hughes for szczerbiak, west and smith...ill take that ne day of the week....without gooden and wallace being swapped, the trade wouldnt have happened, so you cant forget the ohter players involved....
I have heard so many cavs fans complaining about the trade & wallace and just as many pistons, Bulls, Wizards, you name it saying the trade made us worse and we suck blah blah blah.,..whatever, we needed a chnage of faces and i like the new guys, especially wallace...it has sucked that wallace has been injured and sick for us, but we have dealth with that all year unfortunately, last year the cavs had no injuries en route to the finals, this year we had holdouts and major injuries to Pavlovic, Varejao, and Gibson...the team hasnt jelled like we would have hoped and my hope is that this summer we have a chnace to really get together as a team and improve our chemistry...
Tn's game was great, Wallace really played well...i agree with some other cavs fans that Wallace has at times seemed lackluster and slow like he seriously lost a step, ive watched him get outjumped and just barely miss the ball when he needs to get it as a rebounder and defensive only player, but tn it was as tho he had a chip on his shoulder and he really came to play, great game all around, he made my point for me lol
But its one game, and one game only, he needs to bring it every game until LeBron holds up the champ trophy...I would rather have Wallace than Gooden, thats what the point of your post is deike, im a taker, Wallace over Gooden, flat out...if Gooden had to match up with Garnet like Wallace does it would be terrible, gooden would get schooled and look pathetic, did you watch the game against the Celtics b4 the trade when Gooden faced off against Garnet on 2/05, pathetic...bottomline Wallace is better for the cavs than gooden, and giving up hughes and gooden for szczerbiak, west, wallace and smith was a great move...
Stop posting dumb posts and stop hating on the cavs, you do that, i wont give you a problem, but youre just a stupid pistons fan who talks crap about the cavs bc youre jealous of LeBron and still salty about game 5
I was impressed how well the Pistons played without Billups, the Magic blew it and it will be Detroit in the east finals again...b4 we think about detroit we gotta beat the celtics, who are the scariest team in the league...
Another thing...would you be so jealous over LeBron if youre idiot gm had drafted carmelo or dwade or ne one for the matter instead of darko in the '03 draft...if you guys had selected ne one other than darko you woulda one a couple championships conservatively, specially if you woulda gotten wade or anthony, oh well, when the cavs beat the celtics, o | |
