I'll give you a name of a coach that thought what the Patriots were doing gave them an advantage. BB knew taping signals would give him an advantage. If there was no advantage gained by taping the signals, why was BB doing it? Why would he risk getting caught? So, either BB is a cheat or an idiot. I'll let you pick.
Heres something to think about when it come to gaining an advantage by taping signals. Taping signals-the patrios won the SB as a double digit underdog. Not taping signals-loose the SB as 2 TD favorites.
The past is the past and it is over. The games are in the record book and there is no going back. I have accepted these facts. You Patriot fans need to accept the fact that your organization broke the rules during the alleged "dynasty". It doesn't matter wether or not there was an actuall effect on the game or not. BB was breaking the rules from day 1. Period. End of story. Taping coaching signals from the sideline was against the rules. He did it. He got caught.

"There's so much denial going on nowadays in NE that psychologists are working 24/7 trying to comfort NE fans and helping them deal with this travesty."
Dude.... Walsh has just been exposed as a fraud. Spectre has made a flaming jackass out of himself.
What is it exactly that has the Steelers fan all pumped up?
The rules say YOU CAN TAPE DURING THE GAMES. I don't understand why this simple, easily verifiable fact hasn't sunken into the head of ESPN, Spectre, and all the people who are crying because "those mean old Pats beat my football team".
I think the Salem witch trials were conducted with more sense and fairness than this foolishness.
I mean, aren't there enough real problems in this country for a US senator to address? Does he really need to manufacture a football controversy to keep himself busy (or his meal ticket COMCAST happy?)?
How pathetic!

I think it would be great if Matt Walsh thought that the NFL was going to destroy any tapes he sent as soon as they recieved them and decided to hand deliver the Rams walk through in person in front of Arlen Spector. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but this seems just as crooked as the suspensions against players on the teams playing against the Celtics and Lakers in the NBA Finals and not suspending players from the Celtics or Lakers for more flagrent fouls.

The rules say YOU CAN TAPE DURING THE GAMES.
You are allowed to film during the game, but only what happens between the sidelines and the back of the endzones. I know, before any of you Patrots homers are going to say what you think the rule is, it is only the actions on the field of play that are able to be filmed. If it was only a matter of where the location of the cameras, and not what they were pointed at, then none of this crap would have taken so long to come to fruition. Let's see what the new rule is next year before any of you Patrots homers get you panties in a bunch.
I am leaving the I out of Patrots because that stands for integrity and B_ll Bel_check has thrown that away.

Week 13...you heard of it? New England Vs. Pissburgh, all you whiny Squealor fans can have your cake and eat it too on Nov. 30th 2008. If you can manage to win that game, good for you. But what do you think is the line heading into week 13? Patriots by 12 1/2? Ha. It's laughable man!

As far as I'm concerned, the Patriots should get everything they have coming to them and more for their on and off the field lack of ethics.
Bill Belichick is one of the worst examples of a coach ever. He can't win them all and when he does win he is a smug jerk and when he loses he's a poor sport jerk.
The Patriots defense, especially Rodney Harrison (dirtiest player in the league) and Vrabel, are a bunch of jackasses who disrespect when they win.
Tom Brady is easily one of the biggest D-Bags ever. He gets his girlfriend pregnant and to show how much of a stand up guy he is, he drops her for a younger woman. Plus, when they won the Super Bowl against the Rams, the Patriots wanted to be introduced as a team. Yet Brady gets the MVP award and a nice truck and was all to happy to get the spotlight.
The only justice in the world was seeing them come one game short (the biggest game of the year!) from being undefeated. That was great. I'm hoping that as in years past, the Patriots follow suit of the loser of the previous Super Bowl and tank this year.

It is no big deal at this point. Matt Walsh had nothing! It was a big bluff! This isn't even interersting anymore. The Patriots payed a heavy price, losing their first round pick. Heavy fines were also imposed. It's time to move on.

For those that want to say that the Patriots did not benefit from their taping read this...
Tape 1: Signals vs. Miami (Sept. 25, 2000)
The tape is labeled Sept. 25, but the actual game was on Sept. 24. That day in Miami, the Patriots lost to the Dolphins, 10-3, and dropped to 0-4. New England also lost its season finale to Miami, 27-24, on Christmas Eve. The Patriots finished 5-11.
Tapes 2-3: Miami defensive and offensive signals (Oct. 7, 2001)
The Patriots lost 30-10 at Miami to drop to 1-3. The Pats gained 149 total yards and fell to 6-14 overall under Belichick. (They're 99-26 since.) In a Dec. 22 rematch, the Pats gained 313 yards and didn't commit a turnover, winning 20-13 to improve to 10-5. Miami had three turnovers.
Tape 4: Buffalo signal camera (Nov. 11, 2001)
The Patriots beat the Bills 21-11 to improve to 5-4. The Patriots were actually outgained in this game, 242-205. In the rematch at Buffalo on Dec. 16, the Pats won, 12-9, and outgained the Bills, 335-310. Since this Nov. 11 tape, New England is 13-1 against Buffalo.
Tape 5: Coaches' signals vs. Cleveland (Dec. 9, 2001)
The Patriots won 27-16. New England barely outgained the Browns, 290-277. The Browns, however, turned the ball over four times. The teams didn't play again until Oct. 26, 2003, when the Pats won 9-3. Starting with that 2001 win, New England is 4-0 against Cleveland.
Tapes 6-7: Signals vs. Pittsburgh (Jan. 27, 2002)
In the AFC Championship Game at Pittsburgh, the Patriots were nine-point underdogs, and Tom Brady was knocked out with an injured leg in the first half. However, Drew Bledsoe came in and led the Pats to a 24-17 win, thanks to a Troy Brown 55-yard TD punt return and a 60-yard return of a blocked FG for a TD. The Patriots intercepted Steelers QB Kordell Stewart three times, and Pittsburgh running backs were held to just 19 yards. Starting with that win, the Patriots are 5-1 against the Steelers, including a 30-14 win in the 2002 season opener.
Tape 8: Third camera vs. San Diego (Sept. 29, 2002)
New England lost at San Diego 21-14, its first loss of the season after a 3-0 start. Despite the loss, the Pats outgained the Chargers, 440-342. New England didn't play San Diego again until Oct. 2, 2005 and lost, 41-17. The Patriots have won all three games against the Chargers since.
-- Brett Edgerton, ESPN Research
So they did change their game plans and calls in future matchups with teams that were kicking their butts. Why should the league allow them to benfit from this?
