bookdawg made a nearly identical post about another team ~100 miles west of WVU...

http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/chrono/8147575/0/1

His criticism lacks specificity, to say the least.  Nevermind that the Big East and Big Ten have winning records against the SEC over the last several years, he still feels merely listing team names is in-depth enough to win the debate... standard arrogant/clueless SEC-er.

Woody I'm guessing it ended up just slightly better for him than the last two bowl games for your boys

2005-2006 Sugar bowl  pitted an 11-1 WV against a 10-2 SEC champ Georgia

Georgia was favored by 7

Final score WV 38 UG 35

I guess that 's  a little better than our last two bowl games, but if I was a Dawg fan I think I pick a different team to rag on.

I looked it up so you don't have to guess.

Give it up to hypochondriac for officially turning this into another dull conference debate.

err, are you kidding?  What did you think bookdawg was talking about?He played a part in it but I thought we were finally starting to ignore it and actually talk about their schedule. To put it in simple terms he scratched the surface and you just ignited the fire.

I was just trying to point out the similarities between his two threads because I thought it was funny.  Expect a USC version soon, where he lists their schedule without comment and then writes something insightful at the bottom, such as "how could Carroll not win the NCship with this schedule?"  His underlying belief is that everyone outside of the SEC has a cakewalk to the NC game, you can't respond to him without responding to that.

Way too early in the year for me to go down this road yet. I'll just say that Georgia looks to have a very strong team and expectations for them this upcoming season are very high (and rightfully so). If disparaging another team/conference increases those epectations, or makes said poster feel better about their chances...then by all means...

bookdawg10,

Villanova-lol, East Carolina-lol, Colorado-talk about not relavent for 20 years, Marshall-lol, Rutgers-never been relavent and never will, Syracuse-lol, Auburn-Good Game, Uconn-see Rutgers, Cincinnati-See Uconn, Louisville-lol, Pitt-see Colorado but make it 30 years, South Florida-See Cincinnati.

translation:

Rutgers-> never been relavent and never will
Uconn-> never been relavent and never will
Cincinnati-> never been relavent and never will
South Flordia-> never been relavent and never will

Syracuse-> lol
Louisville-> lol

these statements really bother me, it tells me that you are an elite conservative, who is afraid of change and pretends it "never [happened] and never will."  This must be the most blind statement I have read on this entire board.  Furthermore, this leads me to believe that when change does occur you pretend nothing really did change and that it was always there and that bothers me even more.  Rather than accept reality and the changes that come with it, you would rather warp the universe around your head to make all the peices fit...

Sorry man, I know you might take this personal, but, your opinion just dropped in my book...

my only hope is that the SEC is unimpressive next year which could happen just as easily as them being overly impressive. and we can start 600 million threads to talk about this exact same subject over and over. SEC is right on everything, somehow they have the best in conference, the best out of conference, the best bowl game teams, the best bcs wins, the best everything in one form of another. I would feel bad for any type of letdown because then you will have 5 conferences lined up to pile on to the SEC for a year or so.
