What's up Cubs fans? I'm on my way to Chicago next week to watch the Bucs play at Wrigley. I was stationed in Chicago for a while, but I was underage and couldn't partake in some of the funner aspects of the city, namely the aspects with alcohol. So I'm unframiliar with the nightlife and am looking for advice. What is like the best night club in town? Is there an 80's or retro club? What parts of town have a good night life, and what parts should I avoid? What are some things that are unique to Chi-Town that I just can't miss? Thanks guys. Hopefully the Cubs won't destroy the Bucs while I'm there.

Take the Red Line to the game and hang-out at the numerous drinking joints around Wrigley. Go to Rush & Division at night.

If you are looking for an 80s retro club, here's my suggestion - Wrigley Field and all of Wrigleyville.

I went back last year after about a 5 year absence and it struck me how not much has changed in 20 years (except for the prices). Murphy's still sells can beer out the ass, the Sports Corner is still the best place to grab an Old Style and Cubby Bear still has waitresses pushing Jello Shots while the DJ plays Dancing Queen.

As for Wrigley, hell they still play Jump when the Cubs take the field. The place is truly frozen in time.

You realize that Wrigley Field is just within a 10 mile radius of US cellular.....

As for what to do in Chicago, it depends on how old you are and what you are looking for....  If you are 21-25, then go to Cubby Bear and Rush and Division (also, Rush and Division would be a pretty good spot if you are staying in a hotel downtown).  If you are 26-35 and looking for the "hipper" scene, Bucktown or Wicker PArk may be the way to go.

There are plenty of places to drink in Wrigleyville after the game, all filled with Cubs fans.  Personally, on a nice day, after teh game I like heading down to Sheffield's.  they have a nice outside drinking area.  But you should hit Murphy's or Sports Corner either pre or post game.  A good old fashion bar hop may be just what you need (although, its going to be packed - there is something ot be said about finding a table.)

If you are in town for the whole weekend, there are plenty of music venues (or just bars that feature bands) if that's up your alley.  I've always liked Schuba's, the Double Door, and Abbey Pub.

As far as restaraunts go - it all depends on what you want to spend, but for late night grub, The Golden Apple Diner in LAkeview, Flash Taco in Bucktown, and Five Faces on the Gold Coast were my 3 staples when I used to get drunk in the city.

Try these websites:  metromix.com for Chicago or chireader.com.  It may be able to give you a better indication of what you want, and tell you want events are going on the weekend you'll be here.

Also, if you dig Italian food, check out Club Lago on Superior and Orleans.  You get the old school Chicago
