Well, I was referring to Rocker's screaming fist pump, but his opinions did become legendary!!  LOL

The fistpump if joba’s trademark. ESPN and Delluci should shut their mouths.

As much as I do not like the Yankees and Joba Chamberlain, I really have no problem with him first pumping, he is just excited and he usually deserves to be, I mean this guy is nasty!

As for Manny Ramirez standing in the batters box and watching his homers, I DO have a problem with that. That IS showing up the pitcher in my mind. Just drop your head and run to first, look up, see it's a homer then put your hands up in the air and continue to run!

You have the kid a little leeway for that over-exuberance.  He struck the same man (David Dellucci) who hit a 3 Run pinch hit homer not 18 hours before.  That explosion of emotion was partially relief and partially setting things straight for himself from the night before.  Let Mo Rivera's cool, collected nature rub off on him over this year.  I think by by the end of the year he will be striking out men "like he has been there before."  Mo is the best at the "like you have been there before" strikeouts.  That man has ice in his veins.

I have no problem with pitchers or batters celebrating after they've accomplished something in a big spot. I think all of these unwritten baseball rules when it comes to this is horse $h!t. If the player is showing emotion, however it is displayed, it should be allowed as long as it isnt directed at the other player. Dont finger point. Dont yell at the other player. Dont talk $h!t when you run around the bases. And its all good.

Same goes for football btw. Lets stop taking the fun out of the game because of players and their unwritten rules of conduct and their gigantic ego's. ITS A GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

and David Dellucci? Seriously?

I wish more Yankees showed emotion and heart...it's a part of sports and competition.  If you don't get excited when you do well, then your hearts not really into it.

The lack of excitement and emotion is part of this teams problem

Regarding Delucci...I can count on 3 fingers the number of great things he has done in the game of baseball.

I couldn't agree more!!  It is a game so have some fun.  and in big spots yeah go ahead and show up the other team a little bit.

However in the 8th inning with 2 outs and no one on base with a 3 run lead it is just a bit excessive.

Even John Rocker saved his emotional outbursts for outings where the situation was at least a little pressure packed.

Joba was just trying to show up Dellucci because of the homer he hit off him the night before.  Period.  When you look at the entire situation, yeah it probably was borderline BUSH.

Perhaps you missed the "Chariots of Fire" slo mo motif of Dellucci running the bases the night before.  Joba showing up Dellucci a little bit?  Probably.  Well deserved for the slow trot around the bases the night before?  Definitely.
