Just starting a fun little thread since I am from Louisiana and it looks like there might be a Hornets/Lakers Finals. Great match up I hope it happens. Do you believe Kobe is rightfully the MVP or CP3? Thoughts?

Coulda went either way, but this was Kobe's year. The MVP voting has changed over the last 10-15 years, as far as what the voters look at. It honestly would be weird if the best player in the league the last 5+ seasons didn't win an MVP.

I wouldn't be surprised if CP3 won the next 3 or 4 in a row though. The Lakers won the West and it's Kobe's team, so he deserved it.

I am not pissed that CP3 didnt win it because I mean come on he lost to Kobe but in my opinion (which is prolly a little biased) I think he (CP) is more deserving because the Hornets were not that good last year and this year was great he didnt get any superstar help (not that Kobe as but Pau is good) and completely turned the team around this year. But I thought the same thing we Drew Brees turned the Saints around the first year but he had to go up against the record breaker himself, LT. Again congrats to Kobe just watch out if they meet up CP might think he has to show the world they were wrong and outplay Kobe.

I'm pretty sure that Chris Paul is not disappointed he did not win the MVP award  I'm sure his focus is on a much bigger award  for his team to be the N.B.A. champions

and Kobe Bryant  would probaly trade his MVP trophy for another ring

Kobe get's a bad wrap.  He is by far the best player in the league and has been for some time now.  This award is long overdue and I'm going to expect 3 more before his career is finished along with 3 more titles.  And Brees may I ask how it could be a Hornets/Lakers final when both of them are in the West?  Or areyou just talking about the western conference title?

Best player? Maybe! By Far? I do not agree with that. I wouldnt put Kobe in a league of his own. Lebron is great along with CP and a few others. I will put Kobe on top for now but not by far. Yes I was doing this as west conference finals...this question was unneeded. There a plenty of good reasons why he has a bad rap...the whole rape thing (which I will say I never believed and it was a bunch of bs) but also telling the front office he wanted to be traded all offseason that is why he gets a bad rap. 3 more MVPS and rings...is he really that good? Better then MJ?

You forget that MJ wasn't exactly loved by everyone either.  I do think he is better than MJ.  As far as the rape thing goes he was getting a bad rap prior to that incident.  The main reason for this is that he followed MJ and nobody was ready for someone to be ready to take over for him.  Now you have Lebron who is a talented offensive player but does not get it done good enough on the defensive end and needs work on his jump shot.  CP, I like CP, but come on he has won one single playoff series and everyone is about to anoint him the greatest point gaurd of all time.  He is having a terricfic series against San Antonio, just look at his assist to turnover ratio, it is just sick but it will be tough to keep up.  Kobe is the complete package and can turn it on at anytime from anywhere on the court I just don't see how people cannot see this.

YES CP3 SHUD HAV WON THE MVP AWARD...BUT THE N.B.A. FELT SORRY FOR KOBE CUZ HE NEVER HAS WON ONE TILL THIS YEAR....KOBE DOESN'T DESERVE ANY SYMPATHY FROM NO ONE...CP3 AND THE N.O. WILL WIN THE WEST AND THE N.B.A. CHAMPIONSHIP......GO HORNETS...

I agree with the one sided thing. As far as A/TO ratio...look at what it was in the season. This kid is good and took a team from nobodies to finals contenders in his 3rd year. Kobe had Shaq in the early years of his career...CP is forcing his team to play better (not the Kobe doesnt). CP gets to much credit...maybe but I do think you are not giving him enough ...as far a defense he was in the top for steals. You are bashing Lebron defense...I dont watch him all that much he I know he almost averages a triple double.

All I gotta say is I'm definitely looking forward to a Hornets-Lakers West Finals. CP3 and Kobe are starving for that title, and it shows.

Very true. A series doesn't start until the home team loses.
