Part of me says yeah he's just in college having fun but at the same time with his possible future he has to think twice before doing this kind of stuff.

Who cares. There was a discussion on First Take where both hosts agreed it was stupid for Tony Romo to try to qualify for the US Open because 100% of his focus should be on football
People should be allowed to do whatever they want. I absolutely love it when NFL players take part in the NBA All Star celebrity game, and they obviously have fun doing it

I agree with you there Chi. The wheels just fell off for Buerhle in the sixth.
And if Hansbrough didn't have such a bright future then it wouldn't be a big deal but the fact that if he misjudges his jump he could seriously screw up his legs or something it makes it a big deal.
Bobby Frazier also jumped I guess, which is just what his rehabbing knee needs I'm sure.

honestly, as a college athlete myself, who cares? the guy is in college, let him have his fun... this is not a big deal at all, its just a guy celebrating the end of the year, and also celebratin the fact that very soon he'll be receiving social security... even if he does hurt himself, he'll have that check comin from the gov't in about 2 years since hes closing in on that age... i say let him have his fun

I'm with 2bagger on this one. 90% of the time, I am all about college kids having a good time like that. But when you are on a full athletic scholarship, and are one of the best players in the country, those are risks you shouldn't take.

Tyler Hansbrough's the only player I know who can retire from basketball while still playing in the NCAA

I was being a bit "tongue-in-cheek" with that remark; but I really believe these guys should be careful. In the manner of pro athletes, they are investments for their university. Look, it's possible both of these guys could be playing in the NBA next year, so it's in their own best interest to be mindful of their health. That's just good sense.

In my opinion these kids are giving far more to the school by choosing to go there than the school is giving to them. UNC should be grateful everyday for the fact that they landed Tyler hansbrough. If UNC didn't offer a scholarship to Hansbrough he could've gone to a number of other schools and be in virtually the same exact situation with his life that he is in now (minus a POY award)
That's why schools recruit players and not the other way around. He's risking far more for himself than he is for the school. I don't buy into the "players owe their team" theory because I think they do far more for the team than the team does for them, professional sports included

2 things.
1. If he were to act his age, he would have graduated 2 years ago.
2. Do you think he is wearing a shirt to cover acne caused by roids...hmmmmm? Who wears a shirt in a pool? Weirdo T.
