ESPN and Delucci of the Indians was giving Joba Chamberlain grief about his trademark "fist pump"

I say, who cares!  If the guy gets excited after a big play/strikeout then it's none of anyone's business.  If a batter doesn't like it, then he should step up and get a hit to spite him.  Another player has no business finding fault with it.  Perhaps he (Joba) is showing excitement that he doesn't need to, and maybe it's showing his youth....but so be it!  He is entitled.  Shut up David Delucci and fault-finding pundits....

Sincerely,

a Red Sox fan

He got really excited because someone didn't hit a homer off him :)

He's young and emotional.....I don't believe he's trying to show up other players, it's just the way he is right now....In due time he should tone it down a bit and act like it's routine......Like Mo....

I don't have a problem with Joba's fistpump, just like I don't have a problem with Papelbon, K-Rod, Sabathia, etc. doing all the celebrations they do.

I think it was more about "getting back on the horse" than anything else.

The expectations that have been put on this kid or for any athlete his age have to be tremendous....He probably gets himself so pumped up with adrenaline that he has trouble controlling himself....I agree about the "getting back on the horse" theory...Most pitchers need reassurance that they can perform and once their confidence is broken they begin to have doubts in their own ability....He'll be fine, fistpump and all.....Gotta like the kid considering his background, family struggles and odds that he overcame....Outside of his uniform of course.....

I cant believe Im saying this but I agree with 2 sox fans BigKat and Rocko. The thing about Joba when he do it is he not pumping his fist in the batters direction its usually to the Yankees dugout I would understand people saying he showing up the opponent if he was yelling at delluci after he struck him out. Can Somebody tell me w hat exactly was delluci comment?

He does have that  "gotta rout for 'em" story.  Although it would've been in our interest if he had failed again and then gone in the tank.
