I agree.  Izzy is done.  He is killing us this year, 4 blown saves already and just the 8th of May.  How long do you go with his ineffectiveness?  Try to trade him.  Get another closer unless we have someone who can step up and take over that role.  I am not sure we have anyone on our roster to fill this need.

what do you think the odds are that Wainwright will kick the crap out of Izzy when he blows another one of his wins. Adam would be 6 and 1 right now and right up there in the talk for a Cy Young. That aside, our closer is atrocious right now. He is throwing gopherballs up there to some of the best hitters in the game and turning bench players into superstars, like he did last night. Who should close, I don't know if Chris Perez is ready down there in Memphis yet.  A bullpen by committee should definitely be considered by TLR and if he says one more time that there is nothing wrong with his closer, i will f****** explode. I mean to win a division and possibly a pennant and world championship, you need that stopper in the bullpen at crunch time and right now, we don't have it.

Here are the stats on 3 of our top AAA pitchers, all these guys will probably get called up at some point this season.

Chris Perez (0-1)  1.72   8 saves  15.2 ininnings  8  walks   20 K

Jason Motte (2-1)  1.76   15.1 innings  4  walks  24 K

Mark Worrell (1-1)  2.87   15.2  innings  8 walks    24 K

Perez - is their closer, Worrell is a former closer, Motte is projected to be a great set up man.

The problem with Izzy is every time he walks a batter, or gives  up a hit he starts panicking and start pitching awful. For example he'll strike out the first batter with a strong slider. Then the next batter he walks, then gives up a homerun or a double/triple. Also he is inconsistent. Sunday and Monday night this week he pitch well, then last night he sucked again.

Adam pitched one hell of a game and still did not get the win, st.louis has to find a way to win these types of games these are the games that comes back to get you. end the final week of the season,

All the young guys pitched and pitched well for the redbirds last night in vegas. Perez gave up a run, but he still got the win, seems like a big powerful kid. Pitching against the  lv 51's is not exactly the NL central, but they do not look like they would be in over there heads. TLR give the kids a chance.

i have no idea what is up with izzy.   Some nights he looks pretty good but then there are nights where it looks like how in the heck does he have a job as a big league closer.  I would like to think that if he blows a save this weekend TLR will use someone else for awhile.  Lets be a the safe side this weekend and blow out the Brewers for four games,  that way we dont have to think of what to do with izzy.

It's really too bad.  I was very disappointed in that loss along with Issy.  Wainwright has been great, truly the ace of the staff with not much to show for it.  Losses like that are killer, we could have picked up a game on the Cubbies with that win, instead, we are on a two game losing streak.  We need to do somthing about our closer situation because it is too nerve-racking with Jason Isringhausen in there, and plus, he hasn't done the job.  Any suggestions?
