Hey Bearcat fans, I'm a Ravens fan and I was wondering if Haruki Nakamura is more of a run stopping safty or if he is good in pass coverage.  I saw a youtube highlight video of him but it was all on his big hits (which were amasing) just wondering how he is in pass coverage cause we already have Dawn Landry (good vs the run, not the pass) and Ed Reed (crazy insane at everything) and we drafted Tom Zbicoski from ND who is good vs the run but not the pass and we got Nakamura who Im not sure what his specilty is.  Thanks for the info, good luck this year!

I'm not that knowledgeable about this, but I would say that he is a step slow and a little bit undersized. Having said that and after watching him play for 4 years, he is smart, has a big heart, loves to hit (has a martial arts background), and will be a nice asset on special teams. He is probably better at run support than pass defense, but he did not make a lot of glaring errors where it was obvious he got beat.

I'll agree with that. he's not the fastest or biggest, so I'm sure he didn't impress in the combines, but he compensated by playing smart. he's got a high football IQ, and he put himself in plenty of situations to make plays. On top of that, he's a high character guy who can become a locker room leader. For a low pick, I think he can really produce. Obviously, as a UC fan I hope he does, just not against the Bengals.

Well Clazkeeper to sum up what you are wondering about Haruki all I have to say is this. I can't believe the Bengals didn't pick him up in any of the earlier rounds. Haruki has mad skills when it comes to finding the ball whether its in mid air, on the ground, or just not even close to him. He finds a way to get to the ball even if its halfway down the field. The only weakness he had was kick returner and that was only because he couldn't find any blocking on special teams. Your insanely lucky the Ravens picked him up. After Ray Lewis I think he will be the next big play maker for your defense.
