I cringe to imagine another cooper-like coach back at tOSU with as much disrespect to tradition as RR is displaying. Some traditions that I would sooner die than see destroyed…
1) A non-senior sousaphone player dotting the "i" - I know some "celebrities" have done it, but it is such a rare occurrence. Dotting the "i" at the scUM game is the highest honor bestowed upon a sousaphone player. It represents the heart and soul of TBDBITL, which is the heart and soul of the Buckeyes.
2) No more helmet stickers - I can't even think about it……
3) No Carmen after the game - *cowers in corner* please say it ain't so!!! *slowly rocks back and forth*
4) No more Mirror Lake jump- this is actually in danger of happening. With the addition of the bye week, Mirror Lake night will, starting in 2009, fall on, gulp, THANKSGIVING!!! When my dad found out, he turned to me and said, "Well I guess we won't be seeing you for thanksgiving for the next two years." I hope everyone is as understanding…
There are many more amazing traditions, from the scull sessions to stadium O-H-I-O, but those four would probably cause instant heart attack;.

i am a wvu fan and rr is a good coach, but mu fans that is the first sign u guys see about its all about me attitude. i have nothing against mu but i hope he fails.

RR is an idiot you never mess with tradition no matter what. I am a RR fan I think he runs a good program but you dont do that.

Another truly great OSU tradition is the "gold pants" award. That is given to every player on the team when they beat Michigan. It is a small pair of solid gold pants on a chain. If I am not mistaken Kirk Barton may be the only player to get 4 "gold pants" awards. Not completely sure on this but I think so.

As much as they need the bye week, they need to find a way to keep Mirror Lake night. I'll do it on Tuesday if I have to, but they better keep it.

All good points made here. Tradition is definitely something to value.
I think that is a huge part of the problem with JoePa still coaching. Some feel that once he is replaced; the traditional uniforms, helmets, and academics will be thrown out the window. Paterno may not be helping with the current recruiting status at PSU, but will the grass be greener on the other side?

Well I have always been a Michigan Fan But with Michigan Bringing Dick Rod to Michigan, I have turned my back on them until Dick Rod is out of here. He is a good coach and i hope for Michigan.s sake he learnt last year agaist Pitt and South Florida, that the great coach's have a game plan for each team. He is MR Choke and I liked that he brought success to west Virginia but I never thought he knew how to call plays and have a good game plan. I can think of 3 games last year that he just sucked. He is the scum of the earth and i guess i should feel sorry for Michigan Fans, because they got a real low life for a coach. He will do what he wants, when he wants and to who he wants. He has his own tradition, ITS CALLED MY WAY. He he don't care what any Michigan or other Football fan thinks
