He was such a thug at West Virginia that Rich Rod wouldn't put up with him; he went to the draft because he was getting kicked out of school. That's pretty bad considering Pac-man wasn't.

That's kind of a surprise LSU TIGER BOI, I don't see him makingb our roster, i don't know about the Cowboys, bgut what the hell do we need a slot receiver with his baggage? Let's see if Arringtion with his questionable back ground can make a push for a roster spot and screw Henry and hiS BS.

Last time I checked. Sean P had a history with Shockey, and under Sean P, Shockey had his best year of football, and wasn't a problem at all. Henry is filled with problems. I think you get Shockeys fire confused with him being a disruption. Sometimes players need to speak up. This is not to say Shockey was right, but for as bad as you claim he is, he has never hurt a team as bad as T.O or Randy Moss( in Oakland). So I think your way off base trying to compare Shockey, who at worst would a malcontent, to Henry( a guy with a rap sheet)

compare shockey and henry to moss and pacman 2 years ago, moss got traded to NE and you heard nothing out of him except that BOGUS domestic violence crap (that I really think the Chargers put her up to)and pacman was facing suspension and still getting arrested....i think it would be the same exact result:shockey shuts up so he can win, henry gets arrested and suspended

I say we take a chance on him. He wants to be here so I say we sign him to a cheap contract with stipulation in it that protects us if he suspended or arrested. With the Titans and Pacman there was little depth behind him so when he went out they were in trouble. We would have depth behind him so even if he was to get in trouble we would have people to fill the role. The kid needs guidance and I think a team full of good character players could really help him out. He has superstar potential and I want us to at least look at him because I don't really see him as a potential cancer to us.

Right on skippy. The difference between the two is that Shockey is a competitor and Henry, while very talented, is a thug first. Let the Cowboys have him.

I can respect that and I see the upside that Henry has, but he has been given many chances to change his ways and yet he seems to be unwilling to stay out of trouble. I would prefer we just stay away from him.

Henry stayed in trouble in Cincy what do you think is going to happen to him in New Orleans. I'm all for giving a guy a 2nd chance but Henry has already used his 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances. He is easily in the same category as Pacman and proven he cant learn and behave.

The difference is Shockey will be on your team in week 8 and Henry will be in jail.
Shockey's disrupting his team in New York was so blown up by the media. For the first 3 or 4 years he was there they credited him with energizing the entire team. Sean Payton has seen his personality within the team up close and personal so if he was so out of hand do you think Payton would want him?
It's funny, I actually opened this thread planning on participating in a "non - Shockey" thread and sure enough, somebody took a jab at him and I couldn't resist getting involved.
What I planned to say, is if he could stay out of trouble, Henry would be a lethal deep threat along side Colston. Man, that would be scary. However, I am usually not one to assume guys can't turn it around, but in the case of Henry and Pacman, there is little chance. I mean, these guys are beyond repeat offenders.

do you really want Chris Henry in the Saints locker room befriending a robert meachum, or Adrian Arrington, or DeMario Pressley? We have alot of young players and i don't want anybody in our locker room that would be a bad influence on them, our good guys have a real chemistry and you can really tell, i don't want anybody messing with that.It would make me personally sick after seeing all of the good things that Drew Brees,Reggie Bush, jonathon vilma,Mike McKenzie, and Deuce McAllister do off of the field to have reporters and the media throw all of those stories out of the window because one of our players gets arrested for getting in a fight on Bourbon Street.
The bad things about our teamwill be remembered longer than the good things....
I don't remember the score, who they played or even what Super Bowl it was that the Ravens won, but I do remember the whole murder/Ray Lewis thing.....

I truly understand what everyone is saying about Henry. My thought is that sometimes you have to take chances and the chances we have taken so far have improved this team beyond measure. The same way Chris Henry can be suspended this year Dan Morgan can get injured (I truly hope he doesn't and I am not wishing that on him by any means). But we took a chance on him because his upside is much better than what may or may not happen. I think Sean Payton is a more diciplined coach than Marvin Lewis and our players really respect him. I think he is the type of person who can turn Henry's life around.

Chris Henry. like a rash, just won't go away. The Bengals-cut-chris-henry/">Bengals released him earlier this off-season after his 11th run-in with police since 2005. Apparently, the team draws the line at double-digit offenses. It's good to set boundaries.
At the time, I (half-kiddingly) speculated that Dallas seemed like the way-too-obvious next destination. Yeah, Cowboys-free-chris-henry-from-house-arrest/">maybe I was onto something.
While we wait for this thing to sort itself out, Henry spoke to the media for the first time since the Bengals released him early last month. In case you're wondering, he's interested in playing for two teams above all others:
"There are two teams that I would always love to play for: That's New Orleans and Dallas," Henry said. "New Orleans is home for me. That's always been a big dream of mine. Hopefully I can get in there and sit down with the coaches and maybe have an opportunity to get down there. And Dallas is another team that I've always looked up to as a kid and wanted to play for them."
No word if either the Saints or the Cowboys are interested in talking to Henry, although it wouldn't surprise me if Jerry Jones is gassing up the team jet as I type this.
Even if another team gives him another chance to mess up, Henry's professional future will depend on the legal system and Roger Goodell. Assuming he can escape with probation or a fine, Henry will still have to get by the commissioner -- the same guy who suspended him for eight games in 2007.
got that from the aol Saints blog. Chris Henry has potential to be a stud wide reciever, so why not? it's been 42 years. we have nothing. anything to win. we are just a few steps away from being that Super Bowl caliber team. SP and Mickey really need to get agressive to give this city a much needed Championship.

If Joe Horn didn't work out with Sean Payton,...I hardly even feel compelled to end this sentence. Good lord I would hate to see Chris Henry signed. My secondary team (actually, they're kinda tied for first...sentimentality, mostly), the Redskins, were talking about Chad Johnson. I was against introducing his attitude to that team...how much more must I protest this idea? Chad Johnson and Joe Horn are mild-mannered Eagle Scouts compared to Henry.

Chris Henry is a joke. He's a good player but outside of football he's an idiot.
I believe the only reason Henry wants to play with New Orleans is because he's from Belle Chasse. Belle Chasse is about 20 minutes from New Orleans so it makes sense.
