hey Angels fans.great pole . that was why I came on your board, to ask the same question. Im a Reds fan. it must be nice to have a problem like this. Maybe you could give us Napoli for K.Griffey Jr. great year.

I can't vote.  Too close to call.  Looking at their comparative offensive stats, it's scary.  Each has started about same # of games, their BAs are within four pts of each other.  Almost carbon copies of each other except Napoli has twice the homers and Mathis more doubles.  Each is serviceable behind the plate.  Mathis a little quicker but still makes silly mistakes sometimes.

If it were me running the show, I'd platoon them all season.  Both are relatively young guys who need the ABs and game experience to develop further.  Then by the end of the year when each is hitting .300+, trade one of them for a couple of "can't miss" prospects.  The Angels development program is so good that they'll turn "can't miss" prospects into future MLB All Stars within a couple of years.  And we can debate this dilemma all over again.  Great Fun!!

It's a no brainer, Nap is hitting a homer every 10 at bats.  That's somewhere between babe Ruth and Hammerin' Hank.  Nap should be playing 5 out of seven days, every week.

Rediculous stats...

Best AB to HR ratio in the majors. Not even a full-time starter, and 1st in the AL in HR's. Napoli just looks like a guy who maintains a beer and hoagie diet. Our catchers are too talented for their own good.

Go Angels.
