Detroit designated former Twins OF Jacque Jones to an assignment---should the Twins pick him up to add a little more depth to the OF?

I honestly think we don't need Jones, I just thought it would be interesting if we re-sign him like the good old days. We already have 5 good OF.
Cuddyer
Young
Gomez
Kubel
Monroe

And another pretty good OF in Span in AAA... I don't think Jones would be a good addition, his OBP is horrible, his average is horrible, and his power numbers have dropped like a rock (5HR in 453ABs last year, although he did have 33 doubles)... He really has nothing to add to this team that we don't already have

This is easy NO! we already have trouble finding time for the OFers we have know to all play. Why add another? Gardy really wanted to Keep Span up i think but just had no place for him, Gomez, Cuddy, Monroe, Young, Kubel to share 3 spots with one DHing.

Heheh, yeah as most posters have stated; the Twins don't appear to be a good fit for him. I do hope that someone trades for him, or should he be placed on waivers, that someone picks him up. Was a fun player to watch here and kept his nose clean.

I always liked him and was bummed when he left. But in a word...NO.

Ya I agree with you, we already have 5 great OF. But It would b kinda nice to see Jones back in a Twins uniform!

A little more depth to the outfield? That has to be the most ridiculous statement that you could have ever made. Since when does our outfield need depth? The Twins easily have the deepest outfield in baseball! Also, why would we even bother with picking up Jacque? Even though he started his career in Minnesota (and I loved him when he was here), he's not exactly a great fit right now....Last year he dropped to nine HR's and this year he is off to a terrible start (I know he has a tradition of slow starts but still...). He'll get picked up by someone and I wish him luck, but not here in Minnesota...

No we have strong outfielders Craig Monroe is hitting better than Jacque Jones and Jason Kubel is to before adress the OF we need to readvise a pitching rotation.

Did Jones always start out slow when he was in minny? I know he started horribly for the Cubs. I dont think that you guys really need him but I really only know you guys are solid for sure in center and left. Im not sure how your RF platoon is doing. If you guys get him he is going to heat up. I think the Tigers made a mistake. He always killed the sox. He is going to do a solid job for whoever gets him.
