Sure he deserves it if the league wants its MVP to be an ALLEGED RAPIST specially when there are other deserving players. NO matter what anyone says this was a sentimental pick.
Yes, "alleged" being the important word, there. Anyone can make an allegation of anything against anyone else. I can call you and "alleged rapist" if I so desire, or an alleged murder, or an alleged idiot. It doesn't make it true (well, maybe the last one). You need proof, and clearly there wasn't enough to convict, if there was really much to begin with at all.
I agree- these guys are targets and it is time for the rapist thing to die- the key word is alleged. innocent until proven guilty.. in any civil society.
So you might have preferred a player who was clocked at and found guilty of driving 101 miles an hour on the road with other people? That was LeBron James. Or maybe a player who (definitively, mind you, not allegedly) got frustrated in a game and punched another player in the groin? That was Chris Paul. Nobody's perfect, and people need to let go what a money-grubbing, fame-seeking young girl said in an attempt to discredit Kobe Bryant's name.
The best part about this thread is that geonic just copied and pasted exactly what he wrote in another thread here and then M2thaC1369 posted his exact response from the other one right into here. Haha geonic got pwned!
Awesome. I saw geonic's original post in the other thread (before this one began), but I had not seen M2theC's response. Can't blame him for posting the same response, though. Fight ignorance with repetition, right?
However flawed the judicial system is, nevertheless, the fact remains that Mr. Bryant was not found guilty for the crime(s) for which he was accused. Given that fact, to dredge it up again at this juncture is rather immature and ridiculous.
As to the sentimentality of Mr. Bryant's being chosen MVP, what it comes down to is the powers-that-be need to define what "Most Valuable Player" means. Does it mean the best all-around player in the league-which I would personally disagree with- or, does it mean the player, that by virtue of his contribution to his team, makes all of the other players on the team that much better and one without whom the team would flounder? This, to me, seems to be the more sensible criterion.
Well geoinc , we know no one will be "alleging" you are intelligent!
It is amazing how many "haters" always throw out the rapist comment. Anyone who thinks a superstar like Kobe has to "rape" anyone is an idiot. Women throw themselves at these guys!
ALLEGED IDIOT MAKES POST RANTING ABOUT WHY THE BEST PLAYER IN THE GAME SHOULDN'T BE MVP!
You see the point in that? Just because I said that you were "allegedly" an idiot does that make it true?
The sentimental pick? How is it the sentimental pick when most people DONT LIKE Kobe????? Sentimental picks go to likeable guys. If this were about sentiment it would have been Garnett or the squeaky clean Chris Paul. Bottom line is that Kobe was the best player on the floor ALL YEAR LONG and his team had the best record in the uber competitive western conference.
Umm...that is the same "squeaky clean" Chris Paul who punched Julius Hodge in the groin when he was frustrated that Wake was getting beat by State. Just lettin' you know.
