It seems that J-Train has been having some weight issues this offseason and since he was unable to get his weight down Sherman has moved him to FB. This helps out the offense because now Goodson will be the feature back and while he doesnt move the chains like J-Train does he gives us a different style of runner coming out of the backfield. He's much more dynamic and explosive than Lane is and im sure J-Train will continue to get the short yardage carries playing FB. This move helps the new pro-style offense because now we have Lane & Goodson in the backfield together most of the time unlike last year when one of them was usually paired with Alexander. I think its a good move because Lane is gonna play FB in the NFL anyway and we really need to utilize Goodson now since Fran used him sparingly in his first 2 years and he only has 2 years of eligibility left.

great decision and goodson will thrive with the j-train leading the way up the middle.  Look for goodson to reach the 1,000 yard mark this year.

I think as long as Goodson stays healthy this year and they dont overwork him he is a lock for 1,000 yds plus some more. Also he isnt the only back that will benefit. We have a lot of young talented RB's behind him that will get plenty of carries too so as long as the new O-Line can hold up and we can get a decent passing game going the offense should be a huge upgrade over last year's.

i think it's great that they're both gonna be on the field together... it will have that aspect of unpredictabliity for the other team, since J-Train and Goodson have completely different running styles.

it's great

I like all these changes so far. The only thing that I would like to keep is the option, and I'm not sure how much option we will run in a pro-style offense. The triple option out of the I-formation could damage teams with either Jtrain, Goodsen or Mcgee getting the ball on each play. All I know Is that I am expecting a monster year.

Gig'em!!!!!

I would love to see the triple option out of the I-formation to but i dont know if thats in sherman's bag of tricks. He is a no-nonsense type of guy and i dont know if hes ever run the option before but hopefully he can implement it in there somewhere.

i hate the option. It is no longer a good offense to run no matter what tallent you have. Defenses on the college level are much faster than they were 10 years ago making the option a coffin if you live by it like we did last year. The option is great to have in the bag of tricks, but not as a primary weapon like Nebraska use to use. I am hoping to see a Tamba Bay style offense to be honest. J-Train getting his carries like Alstott around 5-700yrs at 10-15 carries a game and 15-20 TD's while goodson is work horse getting 20+ carries game 12-1500yrs around 10 TD's. McGee will have to slow down to scrambling for yards or occasional trick play for running and only expect him around 500 yards rushing, but around 3000 yards passing with a 20-7 td/int. If we can do this, we will thrive. Recruiting looked AWESOME if nobody has seen it yet. LOTS of 300+ offensive and deffensive linemen and great offensive threats.
