I wish the people on this board stop talking about trading Dye, Konerko and Thome.

Who would want them?   With the numbers they currently have and thier huge contracts, it makes it very unlikely that anyone would take them, even if the White Sox paid their contract!    Ozzie ,  Williams and the coachs have to find a way for them to contribute more.   Besides, look at  Matt Stairs who is older then Thome, Dye and Konerko and he's hitting over .300!    If he can hit .300, why can't our 3 guys hit at least .275?  Does anyone have a logical reason for our 3 guys low BA and Stairs high BA?   I don't have time to do any research, but I'm sure their are other players in baseball also older then our 3 guys who are hitting better.

I think Ozzie needs to  bench Thome against LH pitchers and pinch hit for him when the opposition brings in a LH to face him in the late innings.   Give Brain Anderson a chance, he can't do any worse!

I think the White Sox pitching is as good if not better then the other teams in their Division and the Division is "ripe for the taking"   Cleveland and Detroit have their problems, also.  I think 86 wins may win the Divison.

I think they should add a position player to the roster and return a pitcher to the minors. I know they would lose Masset if they did, but, he's not helping them anyway and they have other pitchers right now who are doing well in Charlotte if they need too add a pitcher at a latter date.

I'm also tired about hearing about the TV announcers, I agree that they are irritating at times, but they had nothing to do with the 6 straight losses on the last road trip.

I wouldn't mind if we saw a few guys get benched a bit more.  I wouldn't mind seeing Ozzie give BA a few more games and give Swisher a couple of games off to see if the break would help him get out of his funk.

Dj so you want to sit Thome against lefties? Why, he is hitting over 80 points better against lefties and has the same amount of home runs against lefties but in  42 less at bats. So I guess taking away the one aspect of his hitting he is doing well in will help. Makes sense.

I guarantee there are a few teams that would take Thome and Konerko. Both of them are notorius slow starters. The one logical reason Stairs is hitting better right now is they are off to another slow start. Do you really think that Matt Stairs is better than either of them? Have you ever watched him? He tends to start out hot and slows down where it is reverse for Thome and Konerko. Thome will not waive his no trade thats why he isnt being dealt, I guarantee somebody would take a left handed power stick anyday of the week.

Nobody said the announcers had anything to do with losing. They are just annoying appologists. They stunk before the losing streak and they will stink during what is hopefully the upcoming winning streak.

I guess boston should dump David Ortiz for Matt Stairs too. Ortiz's stats are very similar to Thomes yet I dont hear anybody in Boston saying to dump him after one month.

DJ....com'on now, Matt Stairs?? You shouldn't be comparing Stairs to Dye, Thome, and Konerko.  They are all solid players who are just starting off slow.  They will all pick it up sooner or later and when they do it will come at key times because our pitching has kept us in games this year.

I never said the White Sox should get rid of Thome,Konerko or Dye. I just doubt if any team is " currently" interested in any of them.   I can't predict what will happen in the future.

I didn't realize Thome is hitting 80 points better against LH pitchers, hard to believe that.   If ozzie decides to rest Thome more often, it will be against LH pitchers.   Plus, I don't recall the last hit he got against a LH relief pitcher?    I didn't say  Stairs was a better hitter then PK, JT and JD.   My point is if he can do it so can our 3 hitters.  What teams might be interested in those guys?   Maybe after their contracts expire.   Also it would probably be an AL team. The only point i wanted to make was I think they can do much better then they have.  If its true about 80 points better against LH, it won't last much longer.

I don't see your logic of Stairs getting off to a good start because the Blue Jays are off to a slow start  ???

ChiSports,

I'm not comparing JT,JD and PK to Stairs, my point is if Stairs can hit .300 why can't our 3 guys hit at least their lifetime averages?

They are all solid players who are just starting off slow.  They will all pick it up sooner or later and when they do it will come at key times because our pitching has kept us in games this year.

I can not disagree with your above statement ChiSports,  does ChiSports mean you are also a Cub fan?

If Oakland was willing to take back Thomas, then there is a team out there who would take Thome and/or Konerko.  Let's not forget come time for the 1st trade deadline, you always have the contenders who are short handed on hitting.  Those are the kind of teams that would take Konerko and/or Thome off of our hands.

The most realistic castoff  would be Thome since I believe this is the last year of his contract and so the team who lands him would not be stuck w/ him for next season as well.

Ha...no i am not a Cub fan, basically all but the Cubs.  And ya you cant really compare Stairs to PK, JT, and JD.  Our big three definately need to pick it up as you were saying, they should at least be around their averages.
