Assuming that Q. Castille and M. Lucky will get the same amount of playing time. Who do you think will have a more productive seaon? I'm talking about overall productiong not just total yards.

im a huge castille fan, but if he can't hold on to the ball, he won't get much playing time other than short yardage/goal line. roy helu looked pretty good in the spring game to be honest.

Quentin Castille has the potential to be a beast, but he's got to be able to hold onto the ball. He's had a little trouble with that, which keeps him off the field. I a gree with cirknick that Roy Helu looked great this spring. But Marlon Lucky has put it all together. He'll run inside, outside, catches the ball great and will pick up the blitz. He's the total package we all expected when he signed with Nebraska.

I think Lucky is going to have a break out season this year, I see Castile being used primarily in goal line and short yardage situations.

I'm not sure why, but I have the same feeling. I strongly believe that Lucky feels like he has yet to perform to his potential as a runner. Let's face it, last year he never really got a chance to prove himself as a strong runner, but he took full advantage of catching the ball out of the backfield and led the team in receptions. I'm hoping that he will get his chance to shine as a runner.
Castille reminds me a lot of Danny Alexander. Big, strong runner who has a small fumbling issue. I think he's a stud in the making.

I don't think anyone would question Q's abilities. But Marlon has more time in the system and is a proven asset on the field. QC will still see the ball though, he's the best short yardage back we have.

I don't really have any reason why i think Lucky is gonna show his stuff this season eaither other than my gut fealing and the fact that this season won't be thrown down the tubes after the first five games. Having something to play for might give him enough spark to have a special season.

Marlon will get the most reps in the first part of the year, but I ain't sold. In the past some of his moves have seemed tentative--either trying to avoid injury or else he seems completely lost when the blocking doesn't go his way--like adeer staring in the headlights. JMO

I would like to say Castille, he is my personally favorite, he is more of a power running back, not afraid to make a hit for an extra 1 or 2 yards,i didnt like the way Marlon danced around waiting for a hole to open like he did last yr. but i have confidence that Marlon has improved and that our offensive line has improved, so im going to say Marlon just on the faith that he is going to become a more elusive back and has learned from last yr.

lucky should of went pro this year....he would of been a 2 to 3 rounder and nebraska has been pretty good on destroying the running backs when they chose to stay an additional year at NU

The assumption that they will get the same playing time is a farce. I can't see that happening, but for fun if it did happen, Castille would be the more productive back in several areas AKA between the tackle, on the goaline, and of course his fumble #'s would be higher than Lucky's. Yet, Lucky is a better reciever and has the speed that makes him more of a home run treat at any time as long as he doesn't get pushed, looked at, tripped, touched, or God forbid tackled.......then he falls down......sorry I couldn't help that rant!
So, if you gave them both the same # of touches I think Helu would be the most productive if he could be included in the mix of all for one and one for all. He has good vision unlike Lucky. He can catch and he holds on to the ball. Hmmm, I look forward to the season. GBR

Marlon, no doubt. You said overall production - not just rushing yards. Supposedly, the easiest thing about being a running back is the running. Then comes the catching, blocking and blitz pickups. Marlon can run inside and out, he can catch like crazy, he can block and pick up the blitzes. He will give Ganz better protection and will thus make others more productive as well. This is his last year... if he doesn't do good this year he might not get drafted (unlikely, but look at this year's draft). This is like his contract year.
