The big 12 has 4 in the top ten and 5 of 11,  that being said isn't that the best conference?

The big 12 has Texas and Oklahoma every year that gets soooooo old. Their records against the rest of the conference are ridiculous.  Play in a conference with defenses please. They are ranked every year because they have no one to play. We will not even get into Mack Brown's state pen program. I believe the Big 12 champion has a record of 0-4 in bowl games the last four years. Is there any football teams in the other division of the big 12? No! No challenge and only one big game every year. It is a mirror of the big ten. The big ten has no conference championship and basically the big 12 does not have one as well.

Kansas was a product of an easy schedule and no competion in the North last year, I don't expect them to even be in the top 25 by the end of next year and Texas Tech is always hyped about and lets down, they will fall. Having LSU 16 while both of these jokes are above them is an embarrassment to sports writing. SEC is still better than the Big 12.

OK, first off, the other division has Kansas (which will prove against a tougher schedule that they are for real), Missouri (which returns a lot from a two loss team), Colorado (which is definitely on the way up, and Nebraska (which can only get better from last year, and will).  I believe that proves that the Big 12 is much better than the Big 10.  Second, with the 0-4 conference champions' record, what about other bowl games?  Kansas winning the orange bowl against a good VT team and Mizzou totally demolishing Arkansas in the cotton bowl?  The conference champion isn't the only one to play bowl games.  And, finally, your comment on the defenses...I'm not sure about the other teams, but Kansas had a top 10 defense all season to go along with its top 5 offense.  One of the only teams in college football to have both.  Plus, practically no one had outstanding defenses last year, as shown by broken records all across the board on the offensive side of the game.  That was the whole country.  Just try to realize that football does exist outside of the SEC.

its impossible to have this discussion in any sort of valid way with SEC fans. their superiority complex is ridiculous. maybe one of these years an overhyped SEC team will finally play a team beyond a pee wee football team, Ohio St, in the NC game.

It's always SEC 1 and someone else 2. Big 12 can be 2 but never 1.

The Big 12 is certainly a strong conference, I would say 2nd overall. To say it is the strongest conference based on a writer's preseason poll is just ridiculous. Both Missouri and Kansas still have to prove they can sustain their success, especially Kansas, who must play an actual schedule this year. The SEC is still the best conference till proven otherwise on the field.

The only problem I have with the Big 12 in the the top ten is I'm still not sold on kansas, I know they have a chance to have a explosive Texas Tech type offense but I dont know how that secondary will be without Aqib Talib. But of course I haven't watched much KU football so if any kansas fan wants to correct me about the secondary please do.

What math says big 12 conference champs are 0-4 in bowl games when 3 seasons ago Texas lost exactly 0 games the entire season? Oh... right... SEC math.

What they meant was bowl games played by the Big12 Champ/ all BCS bowl games but they are only counting those schools that have more than 2 sylables in their name.

Gadawgs.........

Big 12 Champion is 0-4 in there last BCS bowls????????  Texas won the NC, dumbass!!!

The Big 12 will be tough again.  It's tough every year.  The debate about the best football conference will never end.  SEC people say it gets boring
