Why the Titans will not go after big-name receirs

This is just my specualtion.  I don't think the Titans will ever go after a big time WR no matter how much the fans will pout about it.  Reasons being:

1.  This is a run first, ball control offense and big time receivers don’t fit in well.

2.  A big time receiver is never going to be happy here, because he will want the ball, which will PR and locker room problems when they’re asked to block on 35 out of 50 plays.

3.  Titans see more value in Tight Ends than they do in receivers.

4.  I don't believe that the coaches have enough confidence in Vince Young to throw the ball down field.  He has a rocket arm, but his accuracy declines when he has to throw over 20 yards down field.

5.  History tells us that signing big name receivers will not work out here.  Carl Pickens, Yancy Thigpin, and David Givens were all big names who came to TN and basically ended their careers with a low note.

I think Fisher and his coaches like what they see out of the current receivers and think that these guys will help the Titans win more game than having a big name receiver here.  To some extent I agree with them.  I realize that the NFL has turned into a pass happy league but that has never been the philosophy of the Titans since Jeff Fisher has been here and I don’t see it changing as long as he is here.

This is just my specualtion also

1) There QB is bad therefore they need to spend the money on better defense of players.

2) There QB can't throw and a big name wide receiver would get upset and cause problems (EX OWENS, TERELL, JOHNSON, CHAD)

3) They made a mistake and drafted a good college QB with Horrible throwing mechanics and tried to make him a NFL QB. OOPS they also drafted Adam Jones guess they were trying to be REBELLION.

4) What Justin Gage and his 2 TD catches last year he is a big name recevier def better than Moss, Owens, Smith, or Johnson.

5) Big Name Receviers don't really like to block. The Titans receviers just need to block for there RB and QB.

6) Vince Young's errent passes is going to get a big name wide recevier hurt going over the middle on a inaccurate pass. They don't like that

7) Vince Young is bad

8) The Titans offense is woeful (see playoff game VS San Diego ouch)

10) The Owner is cheap really cheap

11) Kerry Collins he is a drunk and a racist

12) Albert Hainesworth might get upset during drills and stomp on a "big name" wide receviers face. They don't like that. Ex Chad Johnson wouldn't look right missing an eye with a huge bandage on his face doing Degree commericals. WOULD HE???

13) Vince Young now has to drive to Dallas to go to the scrip club with pacman so he can be rebellion.

Believe me i know our recievers are a pretty poor and i would have loved if we had picked up a big name player but that just isn't the Titans way and if the coaching staffis happy enoughwit their improvement not to draft one of the top recievers then i think we should trust them to know what they're doing!

As for Vince being so bad, he was being forced to become a pocket passer last season by our old OC Norm Chow and he uffered because if it.  While he my become one down the road, that's just not his style now and our new OC, the same guywho made McNair MVP, knows it andwill ply to Young's strengths. He'll never put up brady numbers but i think he'll be a lot better of a player than he was last year!
