so I always knew Tebow was from a religious family and all but man I read this article and was just flat out surprised. WOW a 20 yr old kid who actually has his stuff together. I never was a big fan of Tebow for whatever reason but this def changed my mind. Especially in a time when all these college players are getting in trouble with drugs, abuse, etc... this is inspiring to me that there are actually good kids playing college football. Kudos to Tebow and the Florida program for recruiting such an outstanding kid, (i know his football had something to do with it also haha). Besides gator fans, and gaotr fans I guess did you all know how much outreach this kid does? Impressive young man!

Thanks for the article OSUBOB. As a Florida fan I've known this about Tebow and know his story. The guy is simply amazing on and off the field and I'm proud as an alum of UF that he is representing the community in such a wonderful light. It's funny to think that the reason he plays with such ferocity and intensity on the field is because of his faith in God. He understands the gift that has been given to him physically and he truly plays the game to gain more recognition not for himself but for his beliefs. It's his platform and his opportunity to get his message out. Kudos to Tim Tebow and his parents

Tebow is one of a kind. A very humble christian. A man of God and family. Football is just a side bar that he happens to excel at. I am proud of him and proud that he is a Gator. But he could play for anybody else and I would syill admire this kid. He's the type of guy you pull for regardless of your team (unless he's trucking your linebackers at the time). Refreshing to see a kid like him eh guys?

Hey BOB,
I can only assume that up until now, you have watched SportsCenter on mute. It seems every time they get a couple free minutes on any sports related broadcast, they tell the tales of the mighty and righteous Tim Tebow.
Yes, BOB, we have known how great this kid is ever since Meyer first put him on the recruitment board. He is an amazing athlete, but above that, he gives more to the world than anyone can imagine. Especially for a kid his age with all of the demands placed on him by his 'extracurriculars'.
Now you guys see why we get so mad and worked up whenever someone on here attacks him for his 'lack of character' or saying his 'ego' makes him run instead of throw. He is one of the most selfless people I have ever heard about, and I doubt very strongly that he has any personal agenda of self-promotion.
Kudos to you for keeping an open mind and admitting when you have changed you opinion. Now spread the gospel of Mighty Tim.

seriously, this kid is awesome to have as the face of your football program, and heck university... just cant say enough how refreshing it was to read this article, so sick of hearing about all the bad things in college football

Hey Bob~
I have never seen a kid with this type of character in NCAA sports. Especially since this kid is such a force on and off the field. Makes me wish I could have done more for the people around me during my playing days.

I can think of one other guy that was as good as Tebow. In fact, Tebow openly admits he models himself after this guy.
Here's some hints...
1. He was a QB.
2. He won a Heisman.
3. He won a NC.
4. He was a devout Christian.
5. He didn't do anything in his whole time at school to cast a shadow on his character.
6. He started a ministry in the city where he was first signed in the NFL.
7. He was a Gator.

As much as I despise Florida it's really hard to actually hate this kid, at least off the field. As a Christian myself, it's very encouraging to see a kid of his character excel in place where every other day it seems that a player is getting in trouble for drugs, bar fights, gun incidents, etc. Hopefully some of these players can see his character as an example of how you can still be an outstanding player and do things the right way off the field.
