COnsidering that the amendment was made over 200 years ago when the sountry fought with muskets and cannons, maybe we should just get rid of it in genral.  I for one dont own a gun and dont think that i would be safer if i did.  Maybe all the guns in this country are the problem.  I t went form owning a 6 shooter to who has the most assault rifles in their collection.

We used to shoot for food, now we shoot for fun.  I meant this country the great USA has the most gun deaths in the world every year.  that should tell you that we are not going in the right direction.  I mean i live in Philly Pa one of the most dangerous cities in the country.  A cop just got shot and killed 2 days ago by a foriegn assault rifle.  Why do we need to own assaualt rifles. Is it neccasary to own a gun that can shhot 15 to 30 bullets at a time.

A post on here says why is it mostly black athletes own guns.  Is that the truth or are they the only ones you here about.  White and black athletes  both own guns does it make the world a better place.

i think that this country should rethink some of the old school rules that we still have in affect.  I know that we are supposed to live by the Constitution, but some of the rules are outdated.  What is it going to take for the rest of us to see this, 200 more innocent school kids getting killed or your own family getting killed by gunshot.

If you arent in the military or a police officer you should have a gun period.

You are obviously much more intelligent than America's founding Fathers. Why don't you start your own country?

Its nanny state do gooders that make the first admendment seem repealable.

Yeah , making something that people want illegal does the trick. Look at drugs , they are illegal and we have vitually no drug problem here in the good ol' USA.

Make guns illegal and criminals will still have them. Making honest people criminals by making them illegal is stupid.

The primary purpose of the 2nd Amendment was to ensure that the populace could defend themselves against the government.  If you would take a break from your blissful ignorance and read a little history about the actions of the British in the colonies, you would learn this.  Is the government any more trustworthy today?  I can think of 400+ kids in Texas who could have used some defense against govermental authorities who ignore the rule of law and the Constitution (don't take this example to mean I support polygamy, pedophilia, child abuse, or cults -- in this case, a cult of a cult -- but instead recognize that there is supposed to be due process of law, which in this case would have prevented over half of those kids from being kidnapped by the state of Texas).  There is no such thing as a benevolent government, nor a good one.  The only thing that keeps a government in check is the ability of the citizens to keep it in check.

As far as the Harrison case goes, I don't know what level of involvement he has in the shooting, but the kind of gun he owns or the number of guns he owns is irrelevant.  It's not a bad thing for someone to have a gun.  Keep in mind also that the percentage of gun related incidents that occur in the NFL is far lower than that of the general population.

One final note -- there are literally thousands of citizens who've had their weapons confiscated by the government over the most trivial of reasons, and there is a concerted effort by the government to severly restrict the ability of anyone to sell guns (I'm refering to the legal trade of firearms, of course).  For the article to state that no one is trying to take your guns is demonstratably false.

People like you are the problem. The fact is that harrison owning a gun is perfectly legal and logical. You need to stop babbling about things you dont know about. If ignorance was bliss you would be Barney the purple F*cking dinosaur dinosaur. He ownes a bar in the most dangerous city in America, why wouldnt he have a gun at the bar. The fact that he has the money to buy a quality hand gun makes no difference. Lastly, I would rather have my pistol  for my entire life sit by my bed and not be used, than not have it when I need it.

I live in London England where we do not have the right to own a gun and quite frankly i feel much happier with the law as it is here. I think it is senseless that anyone can own a gun so how do you separate those who are owning the guns for protection from those who are using the guns to instil fear into people so they have the desire to get themselves a gun. Ban guns for all civilians and impose a  mandatory prison sentence for anyone found in possession of a firearm and the world would be a safer place.

The whole constitution needs trashed and rewritten. What was important 200 years ago no longer applies. Get a clue kids. We deal with things today that our founding fathers never dreamed of. Shove that 2nd amendment, and a bunch of other ones too. Wake up.
