The sad thing is that this years OSU team is much better than last years team. It would be ridiculous to punish a talented team because last year they got an undeserved shot at the national title.
Last year, everyone knew that the Buckeyes were not that good and were going to lose to LSU, but they were put in the game because the BCS refused to recognize that there were better teams with 2 losses, who had played tougher schedules.
This years Buckeyes will be good. I am an SEC fan, and I believe that OSU will be one of the best teams in college footballs next year. It seems that they will be better than USC too, but they have to play their and USC will have the home field advantage.
The sad thing this year is that because OSU was given the championship game, they can be punished for losing to a team they should lose too; and because the Big 10 is weak.
I guarantee that Oklahoma will not have to deal with the same stigma this season, even though they have been lost 4 BCS games in a row, one to a non-BCS school, two by blowouts, and one where they were considered the best team in the planet. But they did not play in the championship this year so the stigma will not affect them.
