Jake Delhomme after this season retires leaving Matt Moore as starter. Steve Smith,

Hackett, and Jarrett make a great 1-2-3 WR punch. The Panthers go 13-3 and win

superbowl 44. This is for the 2009-2010 season.

Say what!?! Jake Delhomme is twice as good as Matt Moore. The Panthers will SUCK when Delhomme retires...

Dude did you see Matt Moore against the Cowboys and the Seahawks? He was just playing solid football with a fraction of the playbook. Just imagine when he is used to the system and he is more experienced. He will be a beast at QB.

The way the Panthers drafted it looks like a power run game to me but no way they get to a super bowl that defense had no pass rush last year and i really dont see much of a differance this year. They should have took a d-end in the first round peppers just gets doubled every play and now they have no d-tackles with the trade to the Jets.

The key is the D.  We got more athletic at LB over the past couple of years which is good.  Some combo of Gamble, Lucas, and Marshall need to start playing better single-cover.  The line HAS to start producing more pressure, or the corners have to cover better to allow for some LB blitzing.  I like the moves offensively and think we'll be a more reliable scoring team.  But the D has to step it way up, in both performance and intensity.

Bottom line: Peppers needs to start earning that big contract he signed.  I saw an earlier reply suggesting he was constantly doubled...no dice.  My seats are 10 rows behind the Panther bench, and I watched Julius get handled by one guy most of the season.  He had a miserable year by his standards, but he can also decide to take it back up to the level where he was as valuable a defender as anyone in the league.  All up to him.

Yeah!  What a stud.  If it can guarantee us a whopping 13 points a game, I say start Matt Moore immediately, and keep him there until he's dead!  Moore is barely a game manager, and the Panthers will do fine, but not because of him.

Julius Peppers hasn't seen regular double-teaming in a year and a half.  He's just lazy and underachieving.  If his first move doesn't work, he just gives up.  It's pitiful to watch.

Reported today was that Peppers looks much bigger in the upper body this year. I have season tickets and for two seasons Peppers gave great effort, but last year didn't appear there was any effort. I think something was wrong and I hope this season whatever it was is fixed. A dominating running game can cure a lot of ills both on defense and in the passing game. If Jake is healthy great ideally Matt Moore can watch for another season or two and then become a good to great starter.

I don't know about a Superbowl this year, but if we don't get to the playoffs heads will roll.  Problem is we won't have a first round pick next year, hopefully Otah justifies that fact, cause if that ends up being a top ten pick he'll have that hanging over his head.

At this point, let's hope Julius returns to form, Jake stays healthy, and the lines win more trench battles than they lose.

If the football gods grant us that much maybe we make it to the playoffs and then who knows.

Return of the Cardiac Cats!
