Wouldn't it have made more of a statement that the Hawks were ready to go if they at least took one at the Garden? That they could only win at home shows what an advantage that is. And when you're deep in the playoffs, winning on the road is everything. That is unless of course, you're a super-elite team and just sweep every time... But that's a different topic.
Hawks are a disappointment because while playing in a lackluster east, they won ENOUGH to grant them a #8 berth, started playing aggressive and finding their own at home, and then laid a complete egg when it mattered the most.
I'm not saying the Hawks shouldn't be credited for making it to 7, I'm saying they deserved better than the way they played, and they have plenty to work on for 08/09.
