I thought the Titans did ok in the draft.  No, they didn't get a receiver, but they will do what they have done in years past.....they will wait for those good experienced receivers to get cut by their team and bring them in to fill their needs.  Their passing game will be fine this year.  Granted, it won't be the Colts or Patriots, but it will be serviceable and productive when need be.  The Titans are a run first, pass second team.  With the addition of Johnson, this team will have more of an Eagles look than anything, in the way they use Westbrook.  They want Johnson to have the same role as Westbrook.  We won't have the West Coast offense, but it will be built on speed.

I noticed that besides drafting depth, that we drafted speed as well. That will help us. The more I dwell on it, the more I like the Chris Johnson pick. He could be huge for us as 3rd down back. We can do alot of things with his speed. He will see alot of swing passes and screens, as well as being split out and maybe some kick return chances. For our defensive picks we got younger and faster. I still thought that we could have drafted better, but we did fill some needs.

It's funny to compare the Titans to becoming like the Eagles cause the AFC South and the NFC East are in fierce competition as to who is the better divison. Both had 3 teams go to the playoffs last year. Both had the a wildcard lose. Both had a favored team lose. Only the NFC East holds the championship team. I hope Johnson becomes like Westbrook cause that would make us one of the most dangerous teams.

1ST Round  # 24 Overall   Chris Johnson     RB     East Carolina    5'-11"  197pds

A little on the small in size for a RB, but has great speed, with a 4.24 40yd time. Despite his size he put good numbers. He was decent at catching the ball as well. He did a fumble more than I like for a RB. He was also used as a KR in college. His college numbers look like this-- 624 carries, 3027 yards, 32 tds, 125 rec, 1296 yards, 10 tds, 115 kr, 2715yds and 5 tds. His ability to fill multiple positions is a plus.

864 touches and only 2 fumbles....and he was furious at himself for thew second one in the bowl game vs Boise St...where he demolished them with for an NCAA record 408 total yards.

The guy instantly puts DBs and LBs on their toes by just being in the backfiled or split out. If thge OC will attach he can really help this team.  Still, I would have traded down and picked up a pick, becasue I think he goes 8-12 picks later.

I heard this somewhere else and did not reply, but I really need to stop this rumor that CJ fumbles. The exact opposite is true. He almost NEVER fumbles.

We replaced Chris Brown with Chris Johnson. Besides CB's fumbled a lot and CJ hasn't really.

Sorry about the computer glitch.

Just to clarify that someone has the wrong information on Chris jjohnson about fumbling. He is incredible at protecting the rock.

Facts-------

Wow.. this is a tough room!!!!

All this doom and gloom about no WR. Sheesh. This is a running team. Johnson is going to show his worth as a return guy. Tight Ends have always been vital in this squad's plans.

Did I say 'running team'? Good grief. They made the playoffs without scoring. This is a defensive team.

I'm also curious about everyone who speaks of the losing streak when Albert was hurt. Has anyone looked at how many D linemen were playing hurt during those same games? I don't think so. Certainly no one in the national media.

Now.. will this kind of thinking win a super bowl? Maybe not. But... can't one make an argument that following the pat's model is not creative thinking? There doesn't seem to be many teams in the league that are as committed to smashmouth as are the Titans.

I think that it's creative, risky, and interesting. I love reading these posts.. and love the drama.

thanks for reading

DRAFT A WR...............Jeff Fisher said in an interview with ESPN "I really like our young core group of Wide Recievers" WHAT?????? you think as a fan i can believe that bogus????? Draft a wide reciever like Sweed or Malcom Kelly...i would settle for Mario Manningham. Come on what were the Titans thinking.

I would have grabbed a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round...many of the best ones were still on the board.  I would not have taken manningham before Rd3.
