ESPNs Tuesday Morning Quarterback Draft Review.

Cleveland: The Browns just invested a No. 2, a No. 3 and a No. 5 in Corey Williams and Shaun Rogers, gentlemen their original teams -- Green Bay and Detroit -- did not want back. The Browns just gave a bundle of money to Donte' Stallworth, who had three employers in three previous seasons -- New Orleans, Philadelphia and New England -- none of whom wanted him back. Let's hope Cleveland knows something Detroit, Green Bay, New England, New Orleans and Philadelphia do not.

I dont think the point is about those teams not wanting them back, its about each team being adequately compensated for their trade.  If Im not mistaken Stallworthhad one of the top YPC in the league.  It should only increase because the Browns actually have something that the Pats didnt, a running game.

Lets start with Stallworth--

I am afraid we may have overpaid, but..."In Phil we Trust"

The only thing we gave up is cap space and i am not positive of the guarentees after this season so i won't comment

What we have that New England lacks is a QB who loves to throw/force the ball deep and let the receivers go up and grab the ball.  Brady is great, but he won't try to thread the needle and some receivers need you to take a shot for a homerun.  DA LOVES to do that.

Rodgers

Everyone knows things Matt Millen doesn't.  My son is now 3 days old and I am fairly certain he could have outdrafted Matt Millen.

We gave up a 3rd round pick (if they contribute its a plus if not... ah well) and Leigh Bodden.  Bodden WAS really good but injuries take thier toll on a CB quickly.

Rogers is discontented because the Lions alwas loose.  I call it Bengals syndrome.  Several of them (Dillon, Spikes) left their constantly loosing team and went on to productive careers.  There is a good chance he will show improvement.

Williams

I won't claim to know more than the GB community.  They didn't want to get rid of him, but he wanted money and they have too much talent to pay him what he wanted.  They felt they could replace him.

We gave a 2nd round pick.  2nd rounders very rarely make a large contribution their rookie season.  Most can be productive over a career but still this is not a giant loss.

He played well last year and should immediately contribute.  We want to make the playoffs now!

Cleveland knows something Detroit, Green Bay, New England, New Orleans, Philadelphia and Easterbrook do not! The Killer Ws will make the Pro-Bowl this year Williams, Wimbley, Wright and Winslow. Add to that list Rogers, an Edwards.  We will be the first team in NFL hisotry with 4-1000yd receivers Edwards, Winslow, Stallworth and Rucker!........

.............Huh?.......What?

Oh............. I didn't realize that was Madden 2009 I was testing for EA Sports in preparation for the Browns Super Bowl run.

I dont think its so much that we overpaid, its that the market set the bar too high for other FAs that had equal or less production such as Bernard Barrian, Jerry Porter and Javon Walker.

I can one up you though geno, my 39 hour old baby girl could out draft Millen in her sleep!!!
