Wishful thinking butterbean!  If Peterson goes down Taylor will fill in.  I'd be more worried about Hutch or Birk going down.  Jackson can get Berrian the ball, have you even seen him play?  Jackson is in sync with Rice and Wade already, have you seen Jackson play at all??  Or are you just judging him on the 2006 game in Green Bay?

I'm sick of all these folks who haven't seen a decent amount of Jackson's playing time trying to post judgements about him.

What do these three have in common?

Adrian Peterson
Steve Hutchinson
Darren Sharper

They are all Pro Bowlers. The Chiefs took 3 players where we have Pro Bowlers. Vikings  would not have taken any of those players.

JustVikings

I am basing opinions on Jacksons play on the fact that with one of the most explosive backs in the NFL on his team he passed for 1911 yards, 9TDs and 12ints.  Hardly impressive stats.  He showed flashes of making some plays here and there but more often than not looked lost.

How about Jacksons monster 72 passing yards against the Cowboys, the team against which Aaron Rodgers off the bench in a little over 2 quarters threw for over 200 yards?  What about P.A and Dubay the radio guys who said that with even average quarterback play the Vikings could have been contenders and that they were not looking forward to another year of Jackson at quarterback.  Those are the voices of the VIKINGS!!!

Yes, Jackson may improve and turn out to be a decent quarterback, but he hasn't showed it yet and it is not irresopnsible to question his ability to do so.

Is there not enough going on in Green Gay that you have to come here with your BS. Why don't you worry about your own unestablished QB and we will worry about ours. Imbecile.

Butterbean, what in the hell are you talking about? I HIGHLY doubt P.A. and Dubay said that they weren't looking forward to another year of T-Jack at QB, at least not in that context. They probably said that they didn't want another year of him playing as he did last year. You're NUTS if you don't think he showed signs of improvement, and you're even more nuts if you don't think Troy Williamson held him back. Williamson is responsible for two or three dropped passes that SHOULD'VE been touchdowns. You can't blame dropped passes on a quarterback. So how about this...take your clueless arse back to the Pukers board where all you stupid cheeseheads can congregate and reminisce about how great Brett Fav-ruh was. Meanwhile us Vikings fans will look forward to starting a new era of dominating the Pukers (as well as the Bears...don't worry about the Lions, we already own them). Alright? Alright. PEACE!

Maybe you should listen to PA and Dubay sometimes because not only have they said it, Viking fans I work with have said it.  Once again, I will say he could become a decent quarterback but he isn't one yet and many people doubt he will be.

As for dominating the Packers I hear that every year and we are still waiting for the Vikings to do something besides talk.

Also in your posts if it is not to much trouble could you put in some facts and data rather than baseless rants.  And yes I will go back to the Packer board, perhaps I can find some intelligent ideas and conversation there.

Enjoy your rants and pumping yourself up.

Everything is 20/20 in hind sight.  If Jared Allen continues to be as productive and make an impact that he did before him being traded, then the Vikings win no matter what the other players end up doing.  The Chiefs win no matter what happens.  Why?  Because they needed a lot more than just one player to build their team.  Even if these guys (from the Chiefs) don't become pro bowlers, there is no doubt that they are going to contribute to the rebuilding of that franchise.  The Vikings don't seem to think they could have benefited more this offseason than to trade for Allen.  The Vikings lose if 1) Allen doesn't produce as in the past or 2)the pass rush is much improved but other areas are still greatly lacking.  Seeing as how both of those don't seem to be case, then the Vikings win also.

This was the perfect move for the Viking based on the fact that we have 4 pro bowlers who will probably be retiring here in the next 3 years maybe 4 if we are lucky. We are actually very young at every other position and all of the guys we brought in are 26 and under, with at least half of their career left ahead of them. We didnt have time to wait 3 years for the guys we draft to develop into good productive players because by then we would have to fill all of those pro-bowlers spots. We decided to add another pro-bowler right now.

To say that we would have been contenders last year with even decent QB play is completely false. To be a contender IMO you have to be able to beat the best. With our weak pass rush last year Peyton Manning and Tom Brady would have torn our defense apart. The DE position is the most important in a Cover 2 scheme. Now we have the best young DE in the league.

Now if you want to say that THIS year we will be contenders with even decent QB play then you would be correct. We would have only been a playoff team last year with that type of QB play, we would have needed a pro-bowl type QB to have been contenders last year.
