Those are some horrible rankings

For Starters,  you cant rank the Red Sox at number 2 after they lost 5 in a row. There are clearly better teams out there AT THIS POINT

Another thing is the Cubs. Im fine with them being number 3, although its hard to admit being im a Whitesox fan. What gets me here is when he says "Not many teams can be that good after loosing their best offensive star" BEST OFFENSIVE STAR!!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me. he has been a fluke considering the ammount of $ he is getting. Plus
D-Lee is by far their best

The Tigers rated as high as 17 and being ahead of the Royals is BS. The Royals have looked like a decent team and are ahead of the Tigers in the Division.

GB:

I agree 100% regarding Alfonso Soriano, Derrek Lee is by far the Cubs best offensive player.  Soriano is not even a 30/30 threat anymore.  Until he stops being a head-case about where he needs to bat in the lineup, he is hurting the team by being in the leadoff spot.  If you look at his career numbers by batting position, his stats from the 5th spot in the order are comparable his stats when he leads-off.

Power rankings are not a ranking of how good a team is "AT THIS POINT."  There's another ranking for that: it's called "the standings."  Power rankings are a combined evaluation of the team's record, how well the team is playing recently, and how successful their overall season is projected to be.  Because the Red Sox do so well in the third category, they would have to do a lost worse than losing 5 in a row to fall out of the top 5.  (In any event, the Red Sox won yesterday and are a reasonable 5-5 in their last 10.)  More to the point: who should be ranked #2 instead of the Red Sox. In my opinion, nobody.

Similar point with the Tigers/Royals. Realistically, the Royals well end up near the bottom of the AL.  Not sure where the Tigers will end up, but almost surely they will have a lot more wins than KC. That, combined with the Tigers playing better lately (6-4 in their last 10) and the Royals playing worse (3-7 in their last 10, and only Giants and Padres have scored fewer runs) is plenty to get the Tigers a higher ranking.

I'm sick of seeing how little respect teams with low expectations get on these rankings.  The O's have been playing first-place ball all year, yet they haven't risen above 18?  Don't get me wrong; they don't belong in the top 10.  But they most definitely do belong in the top half of teams thus far (and it doesn't take a genius to see that this isn't exactly the same team as last year with only 13 players returning from last year).

How do the Red Sox end up at number two while the Devil Rays are still not in the top 10? Especially after the BoSox couldn't even muster 5 runs against their so-called-weak starting pitching.  They scored a COMBINED 5 RUNS IN THE SERIES!!

Start looking at the teams these guys are beating instead of raising your voodoo sticks and saying they won't have a chance of finishing near the top, your power rankings fail.
