When I look at OU's upcoming schedule for 08 , well I guess the more I read about 2 of the teams we face in the OOC portion of it I get the feeling Stoops better get some motivating going on in the locker room . Washington is going to be a tough game , Cincy really scares me , they were ranked ( I believe ) 20th at the end of last season .

So I think If we make it out of the OOC with no losses , OU will be in good shape for conf. play .

What is everyone's opinion of the OOC schedule ?

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I'm not scared of Washington or Cincinnati.  But then again, I thought we'd win another NC since 2000.  Unlike Colt McCoy, I think Sam Bradford will have a better sophomore year than fresman year.  Go Sooners!

I'm gonna agree with you SoonerD. OU is head and shoulders better than either Washington and Cinci. In fact they should be better than everyone on their schedule. That doesn't mean they will win every game but is there really a team out there they should be favored over? Speaking of Bradford, did you see that he is ranked as one of the top 5 NFL QB prospects for next years draft. He is a sophomore and ranked ahead of nearly every QB in the country. I have to think he is gone after his Junior year.

IMO, I believe OU's schedule is set up nice for a Big XII title run, and a NC title run. Like Sooner D, I would've thought we'd had at least two more NC banners hangin in Norman.

I think Wash. and Cincy don't pose to much of a threat for our OOC games. Cincy is a program on the rise but does'nt stack up to what we have at Norman.  Wash, has a good coach and yes it's an away game for us, but I believe our boy's will be ready by then and up to the test. Just please, let's not have a cousin or family member or friend of the OU Oregon game officiating crew officiating this game. jk

Sorry I'll let it go......

The Cincy game had me worried until the NCAA denied their QB, Mauk, a 6th year.  A 6 year senior who was pretty decent would have been challenging but now it should be a bit easier.  We shall see.

Washington doesn't scare me because they aren't scaring anyone in the PAC.

The fact that Cincinnati at home makes me feel confident there. The Pac-10 officiating can make a difference though. I felt the UCLA game and the Oregon game the past few years were the worst officiated games I had seen in years. Many questionable calls in the UCLA game led to what looked like an easy UCLA win but I felt there were 5-6 big calls that were very shady which can easily lead to a 17 point swing.

So while Udub doesnt scare me, Pac 10 bias does.

I really don't share your concern because everyone is going to scrutinize the calls in the udub game. I would look for bias in the spotting of the ball, but expect to see a few "conferences" between officials during the game.

Krazihorz,

I wish I could share your confidence, but since the OU/UO game, I've talked to way to many PAC fans and after watching the PAC's reaction to the Ducking, I would have to say that I don't think the PAC cares that their officiating is cr@p.  I think they do what they want and leave it at that.

They shed some pretty big crocodile tears over the Ducking, but then promoted the head official on the field and offered Gordon Riese his job back in the replay booth.

The PAC has, from all accounts, the WORST officials and they do nothing to fix the problem.

So the officials do concern me during the UDub game.  Just because they are PAC-10 zebras and PAC-10 zebras SUCK!!!
