Just wanted to get you guys opinions on this circus in L.A. The Vikings, Saints and Texans have comeup in discussions about moving. Goddell say he supports the plan of building a stadium for an NFL team then says he doesn't see a team moving nor does he see expansion in the future, he would make a good politician for completely evading and double talking on the issue. L.A. Vikings? well this is the smallest market team in the NFL do they sell out all the home games just wondering. L.A. Saints? With everthing the city of New Orleans has gone through this would be a bad move PR wise for Goddell and the League. L.A. Texans? lol they would have to change mascots. With that expensive and still new stadium it would be hard to see them moving yet.
I hope this is nothing more than a load of bs by Goddell L.A. has never truely supported an NFL team when they had 2 and lost both of them. I think the NFL is fine like it is no team needs to move and we don't need a new one either.

All as I can say is NOT the Vikings! It would be dumb for the Vikings to move they actually really have a good team now here in Minnesota they could win a superbowl in the next 5 years down the road!

Honestly don't see it being the Vikings. I would like to see a new team brought in rather then moving an existing franchise . . . but that's just me.

I'm very afraid that the team the NFL wants to move LA is the Purple. They could put St. Louis in the Norris and the Purple out west. All teams would pass it except maybe GB, Chi, and Det. I get real scared when a person realizes that the Viking lease is up in 2011.
One reason why they won't leave is because that same type of complex is whatg Ziggy want's to build. He moves to LA he still ends up having a lease. I think it will be Ziggy's best interest to have a stadium built here. Unfortunatly, he might make the most cash selling.
The State of Minnesota needs to build the Vikes a new stadium. A billion dollar stadium could be a real boon the states economy, providing one uses state resources and state labor as much as possible. Raise taxes if need be. The last tax cut sure didn't work that good.

I think Des Moines needs an NFL team. Even though it won;t happen because we can't even support the AFL.

i keep seeing this thing about LA they need to stop trying to take a city team the Rams were there for years and they let e'm go in cally you got pro teams & college teams give it a rest LA go and get your DAMM RAMS BACK you had the LA Raiders what happened you lost them too if the NFL lets LA do this it's should change it's name to AATML ( All About The Money League ) sad to say but it could happen Colts Browns Oilers ( Titans ) etc. the NFL is it about football or dissing the fans

I just hope that Ziggy gets the new stadium he has been looking for. I live in Southern Cal and would welcome the Vikes coming here with open arms but it would not be the same. A new stadium in So Cal has been the problem all along. The football fans would support whatever team comes here. Trust me. But L.A. does not deserve another footballl team due to the fact that they are not committed to it. It's sad but it is the truth. If the state of Minnesota can not build a new stadium for the Vikings

I am from Southern Cal and would be a season ticket holder if the Vikings were to come here. But I just want to say that it would not be the same. The Vikings belong in Minnesota and should stay there. I just hope that the state of Minnesota will not make the same mistake that other states have made by not building a new stadium for a team that has been there for alot years. The fans here in LA would welcome a football team and support them like no other but it is the city that will not approve this. It is sad but true. LA has plenty of supporters trust me on that one but will not spend the money to make it happen. Why I think that LA just can not get away from the Collieusm which is beyond me. Greed is a part of this and Cities bring in alot of revenue from the stadiums . Just LA wants more of it and teams and not willing to meet the price. So maybe someday LA can decide to pull their head out and build a stadium that would attract a team sometime in the near future but greed will not allow them to do so. The Vikings have been my team and always will be but I want to see them stay in Minnesota where they belong. It just wouldn't seem right for them to go anywhere else.

If the team does not get a new stadium Ziggy will jump at the chance to move the team to LA when the lease is up with metrodome. Remember he is a developer and the time might be right for LA to support a team even though most people are transplants. We need a new stadium and we need it soon or else!

If the North Stars can move... I think the Vikings can. I would hate to see them move. Like someone said... they would move the Rams to the North and the Vikes to the West... It really comes down to the stadium issue. You cannot expect Ziggy to keep trying to operate this team while losing millions of dollars and in that crappy dome. The only teams being considered right now probably are the Jags, Saints, Chargers, and Vikes. Jacksonville, from what I hear, hasn't produced the football city they wanted, the Saints helped bring New Orleans back to life, and the Chargers are in a similar stadium deal... so I see it being the Vikes and Chargers. Chargers would make more sense, they would be able to keep a large part of their fan base. I would be absolutely sick if they moved the Vikings, but not that surprised...

I have a bad feeling about this. There's a gillion reasons why they shouldnt move the Vikings and one reason why they would. The one will probably win $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Without a new stadiam they are gone. Can we justify a billion dollars for 8 home games a year? Nope.

I simply don't understand why it has to be a BILLION DOLLAR stadium! I honestly think we could have a new stadium built with nearly double the capacity of the dome for $500 - 600 Million. Everybody is talking about some state of the art facility, but it just doesn't make sense to build it for 8 home games a season. The Gophers aren't going to use it! The Twins aren't going to use it! There might be some High School Championships there, but other than that it will be specifically for the Vikings. There is no reason to have a retractable roof. Either build another dome, or build an outdoor stadium.
Moving the Vikings to LA would cause the NFL to lose millions of fans from several states. Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan and Southern Central Canada all have a high population of Vikings fans, not to mention those spread out across the country. Yes the market is small, but it is because half of the fans, like myself, live 3, 4 or 5 hours away and can't get to games.
There will be an uproar equal to or greater than what happened in Cleveland when the Browns left, at which point the godfather, er...commissioner will be forced to allow another expansion team anyway so why not just give LA one? Right now people from LA have their choice of in-state teams to root for. Why take the only team in a 5 state area away just to appease the Governator? It would be like taking the Broncos away from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Western South Dakota, Nebraska, Utah, Idaho and Kansas. Stupid.

I really don't think the commish is going to give LA a team. This is just something for reporters to talk about until mini-camps begin. However, if a team were to go I would not be surprised if it was the Vikings. I would be absolutely furious and would have to boycott the NFL.
The only way the Vikes would move is if Zygi cannot get a stadium built. They are not going to have any problems selling out games this year. There has not been a football buzz in this city like the one we're experiencing now since '98. Fans here could not be more excited. Unfortunately the Vikings have been left in the cold by the state after they saw the Gophers and Twins get the go-ahead for their stadiums. I think they will get something done this year because 2011 is quickly approaching.
By the way, the stadium will be hosting 10 or 11 home games a year (playoffs).

I still don't understand how the most popular sports franchise in Minnesota history is getting snubbed by the state when both the Twins AND the Gophers are getting state assisted stadiums. It would have made much more sense for the Vikings to get a new stadium and the Twins to stay in the dome.
