I agree Fireman_Jets, that cockiness will get a pass if they win; at least by the media. Yet, who was it on the Jazz that said they need to win the series as quick as possible cause it looks like the Lakers will sweep. Are they already looking to the next series?
I think if the Jazz were dominant and winning the series by double digits they can say this sort of stuff. Yet, they are barely winning the games and they are getting alot of breaks (health), so they really should take care of business. I agree, it is that Utah is young or their leaders are young. Yet, it doesn't make it right. TMAC was young too when he thought he won the series against Detroit, up 3-1. He has never lived that down. But in all honesty, he did nothing more or less than several have done. It is just the media making something out of nothing.
This is the first year I've actually heard the media says things like TMAC's numbers are always better in the postseason and blah blah. Why now? I never hear anyone talk about how Grant Hill has never been out of the first round....

Whoosh it is possible the Jazz were looking to the next series a little too early. But I wouldn't confuse that with Boozer's rush of blood to the head. Keep in mind the heavy criticism the Jazz have taken for being a poor road team. Time and time again NBA pundits questioned (and rightly so) the Jazz's ability to win on the road. I mean never has there been a team so dominant at home yet so fragile on the road. Not that this is a justification, but the two road wins in the light of all this criticism could've played a big role in Boozer's taunt. I'll even go to the extent of saying that it was more a statement of indignation than cockiness.
I don't think it is a question of right or wrong. It is a question of whether or not one can back up what they say with a win or not. Boozer probably felt stupid saying that after the Jazz lost game 3. But if they win the series, who cares? If somehow the Jazz were to lose, the media will spend the offseason reminding Boozer of his failed prophecy! Thats sports - you know as well as I do that the media loves sinking its teeth into big stars. Unfortunately, T-Mac's post season failures provide them with enough ammo to do so.

Fireman_Jets,
TMAC isn't the reason his teams have failed in the postseason. That is my point. As I had said, folks in the media are finally figuring this out. Guess some poster have to catch up. LOL

Whoosh - Hello? Do you get the gist of my posts?! When I say T-Mac's post season failures I am alluding to the fact that his teams haven't made it to the second round, not his personal failure in the playoffs. And to be honest, a number of players who fall in the 'superstar' category would consider it one and the same thing. I give T-Mac the benefit of the doubt as I mentioned on another thread - he's mentally fatigued in the 4th quarter and needs his team to step it up one way or the other. I think you posted on that thread too, so I'm surprised you don't get my point..
You may think you're one of the few 'knowledgeable' posters here, but by no means are you the only one bro.
Good luck tonight!

Fireman Jets,
For one, I wasn't referring to you. For two, you didn't clarify your meaning in your post. I didn't say you did or didn't mean anything; simply added to your comment. No need to get your panties in a bunch.
I said I know alot about TMAC not everything. Try to keep up.

Seems like you needed to clarify you're not referring to me - the above intro sure seems like its addressed to me.

I don't even know where thats coming from - the knowledgable quip on my part is taken from your post on another thread. Didn't refer to T-Mac really.
I am keeping up! My panties aren't in a bunch, but we'll see after tonight :)

Good start to the game for the Rockets, good defense as well, forced a lot of steals so far with some good hussle plays.
