Dickerson actually attended Southern Methodist U, but that's not necessarily considered a college football powerhouse either. What was kind of amazing was that Craig James was in the same backfield with him in college. Good call on Westbrook and Strahan! How about Rod Smith, (Missouri Southern State)

Refresh my memory, didn't McFadden make several plays in that game against LSU?He played a great game against LSU, not so much against Auburn!!!! He's not bullet proof. Aurburn's speedy defense kept the TWO Arkansas finesse backs inside and shut them down. Teams don't run outside much in the NFL because everyone is faster than Auburn.

Derrick Harvey may not be a bust but he certainly didnt deserve to be the 8th pick in the draft...as my man mel kiper jr. says on espn, if you're a top 10 devensive end, you better be a master sack artist and derrick harvey was most def not that...proof is that he only had 8.5 sacks in his junior year of college and thats at the college level where your not playing against professional tackles every week, he also needs to learn to use his hands better at the point of attack
As for DMAC, the comparisons to Reggie Bush stop at top end speed and being special...Reggie bush is a shifty back that runs more east and west while mcfadden is north south runner that hits the hole as fast as anyone i've ever seem...DMAC may not be a 30 carry guy but he will be a much better runner than reggie bush at the nfl level

The problem is McFadden is going to the Raiders and have last years biggest bust in J. Russell. It will be hard to judge him on a team that has a pitiful offense.
Sleeper bust this year. V. Ghoulston. One year wonder that alot of draftniks use phrases like; lacks focus and misses assignments. Code words for not very smart and will have trouble understanding schemes and assignments, but hey Dexter Manley wasn't a rocket scientist.

So LSU's defense isn't fast?
i would not call D-MAC a finesse back. Felix definitely is but not McFadden. Felix rarely and I repeat rarely takes it between the tackles, but D-Mac does it with much regularity and when he does he punishes defenders.
The problem I have is when people compare McFadden to Reggie Bush and base it on having watched a couple of highlight tapes. D-Mac may end up to be a bust but he is in no way a pure finesse back.

Derrick Havrey- --a insane pick
----------------------------------- ------------
Dont be an idiot!! The Jags had one pressing need...a need that HAD to be filled and they took the highest DE that they could get. The probably traded a little much away but they had extra picks to deal with. I think Harvey will be great and you need to worry about your own fraqnchise...You know the franchise that has only made the playoffs a few times in its whole existance

But you didn't say why you think Harvey will be a bust.
-----------
he doesnt hav a reason... probably just hates the Gators so he has to say that Harvey will suck. I dislike people who comment on things that they really have no clue about.

ufjp10, I was hoping Harvey would fall to Detroit at #15 so i am not one of the people who think he will fail but I would have been so POed if we would have traded up even six spots to get him. He should be good but I can't see him being worth what Jax gave up for him.

Did i say LSU wasn't fast? LSU's defense is plenty fast but they obviously didn't bring the same game plan that Auburn brought. Everyone who is on the McWagon likes to argue that he ran inside most of the time and I really think you guys are the ones looking at clips and buying the hype because while i can't say that I watched all of his games or saw all of his runs, I can say that only a few times have I seen him take it up the gut and be successful and ALL of those times he went through a gaping hole untouched. I tend to put on my rosie colored glasses when I look at Michigan players prospects in the NFL and when I look at their skill set but when it comes down to it, it's just homerism. Arkansas had a great run game and it was because of the line, the fullback and the running backs. The kid IS NOT PHYSICAL, PERIOD!!!!! You say he is not a finesse back but plainly and simply he is fast and not very strong. the only reason i would agree that he is not a finesse back is because I saw him use his speed a lot but never saw him juke anyone out the way your typical finesse back does. That is the basis of a finesse back IMO. Mark my words, i am not saying there is no way the kid is successful but I guarantee that if he does have success he still won't be a featured back, he will be a complimentary back who takes pressure off the main back who will probably be the beast Michael Bush . He surely won't be worth the #4 pick to a team that has holes everywhere BUT RB and didn't have another pick until round 4 to fill those holes.

Thinkg is he is the 3rd best DE in the draft. We had no chance with the best two but got him at 8. Th ejags HAD to have a quality DE this year and we didnt get him in free agency so this was a must for us. We did the right thing
