I guess it would depend on how much Rhodes would cost us, but i assume he could be had at a bargain price. Seeing he was the first RB cut from Oakland, just had a substance abuse suspension and I'm sure he wants to prove that he wasnt a flash in the pan 2 years ago with the Colts. Remember his Super Bowl performance?
Jamal Lewis had a solid year but remember he is 30. What happens to RB's when they hit the big 30? Jason Wright is clearly not as good of a RB as Rhodes and Harrison is a change of pace 3rd down back. He is exciting but there is no way he could carry the load of being a 15 - 20 carry per game back. Remember Metcalf up the middle? I dont think any of us want to relive that. Its great to be able to throw the ball the way we should be able to do this year, but when we have those crappy weather games in November and December and we are trying to eat clock and preserve a 4th quarter lead, you dont want DA out there slinging the ball around when you can rotate in two solid RB's to pound the rock.
Look at all of the teams in the NFL that have stellar running games. They all have 2-3 solid backs, ie Jacksonville. If Lewis goes down (and he will, he is 30 now and has been known to have nagging injuries), do you really want Wright and Harrison trying to shoulder the whole load? I'd like to see a proven RB that is big enough to absorb the punishment of toting the rock 15 - 20 times per game.
