Oil Can Boyd should be in the HOF for no other reason than having the greatest name in the history of baseball!!!!

my vote is no...there are others more deserving.  no 20 win seasons, no cy youngs, and he was never the best at his position.

Did anybody in the AL have more victories in the decade of 1991 (his rookie season)-2000?

6 top 5 CY finishes from '91-2000.  Any other pitcher have that many in the decade?

If not then he was arguably the best in the decade.

Why is it that every fan of the Yankees think that everyone who plays for the Yankees is automatically a Hall of Famer? Why is it that some idiots think that when 1 player is mentioned it means everybody on the team?

BTW, the Giants have 23 HOFers

The Cardinals have 16. The Yankees have 15 while having 16 more world Championships than any other team? Seems it's harder to get in if you are a Yankee...

Please, there are better players out there than A-Rod!  Check out the stats right now!

A- what does this have to do with Mussina

B- Name him/them?

He has 522 HRs, 402 doubles, 1514 RBIs, .306 BA, OPS+ of 147, 3 MVP (should be 5), 10 top 10 MVPs, 9 Silver Sluggers at 2 different positions, 2 ML players of the year, 3 Hank Aaron Awards, and 2 Gold Gloves.... and he's not yet  3 years old. Tell me who tops that

I could throw out a poll titled OIL CAN BOYD - HOF WORTHY? and every Red Sox fan on this site would vote YES...

nice to see quote unquote unbiased Yankee Fans still think that Red Sox fans are morons. The statement above couldn't be more idiotic.

________________________________________ __

He's right that statement is pure foolishness, everybody knows Red Sox fans are all a bunch of '04 bandwagoners and have no clue who Oil Can Boyd or Ellis Burks or any of the other sox from the 80's are except Boggs (more so for the 50 beer flight than anything else) Clemens (whom they all thought was a career Yankee until the country singer thing yesterday) and of course, my personal favorite Billy Buckner.

I think he gets in. He gets about 10 or so more wins this season. If he reached 3000Ks or 300W's he would have been a lock. Right now he is on the border. And whoever mentioned Blyleven is on crack. Blyleven is your prototypical player who accumulated stats because of longevity. He had 184 more starts than Moose has right now. 184!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats 6 seasons worth of starts. And Moose still has more wins. eesh.
