New Mexico has been putting a good number of players in the NFL in the last few years, one of the reasons I follow the NFL with a little more interest these days. I'd like to have a new NFL Lobo to talk about today, but we'll have to see who goes and who doesn't. It's always a surprise to me: no-picks like Hank Baskett, and first-day picks like Quincy Black with Tampa Bay.

Who's first this year?

Well, only one New Mexico player was selected - WR Marcus Smith, early in the 4th round, by the Baltimore Ravens. I suspect the other two that were on the board will get calls from somewhere in the NFL as undrafted free agents. That should happen within the next couple of days, so we'll find out soon.

I just heard that the Seahawks signed WR Travis Brown, and the Redskins signed Devin Clark. I don't have any more details than that at the moment...
