I am all for more pass rusher but unless Wheeler or Howard can play linebacker any DL the Colts pick up as a free agent likely wouldn't get a roster spot.  As SpeedBlue pointed aout in a previous post, the Colts already had a boat load signed up before the draft.  I am sure the Colts have a different position in mind for some of these guys than they are projected to play by the scouts.

Polian stated that Wheeler is a LB and will not be moved to DE.  I think the Colts will still bring in some unsigned rookie free agent DE's.

I hope they give Jonal Saint Dic a look.

Hart and addai in the backfield with a healthy harrison, wayne, gonzales, and the new TE. Manning should have no trouble with weapons. Who cares if we dont have the number one defense in the NFL......just outscore everyone and win.  Our offense struggled a bit at times, but if we can just plug some holes and tackle a few people, and get freeney back, we'll be fine....especially if one of the lb's we picked turn out to be a man. Lookin forward to 50 points a game.

Does anyone have any links to a Polian interview where he talks about Wheeler?  (That's the one pick I don't understand.)  I think we'll hit the RFAs hard for LBs, as we could add a couple for TC.  Not a single of my favorites were drafted:

Weston Dacus, Arkansas

Matt Castelo, San Jose State

Lamar Myles, Louisville

Marcus Buggs, Vanderbilt

Marcus Richardson, Troy

The Colts met with Rosevelt Colvin this week???  I just heard this news on 13 sports jam.  Interesting?

I just wanted to say that as UK and Colts fan, I am very excited about the Jacob Tamme pick...I got to watch Tamme play all season long and he is a playmaker!

Polian stated that Wheeler is a LB and will not be moved to DE.

That would be interesting considering his strength is rushing the passer and the Colts don't blitz their linebackers.  The scouting report also says that he is not good in pass coverage.  My question would be why would the Colts project him at linebacker when the thing that is his strength - pass rushing - is not something you would use him for.  This wouldn't make sense unless they are planning to change that and blitz the linebackers more or unless the Colts know something the scouting report doesn't know.

Being a UM fan but living in Central IN and being a Colt fan, I was happy to see them pick up Mike Hart.  This guy may not be what most look for on paper as far as an NFL back, but his competitiveness is a great fit into the Colts system.  Anyway, I am just glad that I will be able to follow the start of his career in white and blue.

I felt the same way IndianaJim.  I have read a few reports on him that have stated he would be a perfect fit for a cover 2 style because of his sideline to sideline quickness and tackling ability.  That is very important.  Plus, some of the reports stated he was pretty good in coverage so who knows..  This guy is an incredible athlete as well.  He did run a 4.7 forty, but his other numbers were extremely quick and his strength is really great as well.  But, they were very adament on the Colts.com website that he will play LB.  They must know something we don't about this guy when it comes to coverage skills.

The Colts need to go sign Highsmith and Henderson ASAP as undrafted free agents. Rosevelt Colvin may be a good FA pick-up too. I've read some things down here in Florida that the Colts and Dolphins have talked about Jason Taylor. Peyton Manning would be willing to redo his contract to make that happen. I'd love to have taylor who would like a chance to play for a contender.
