It's been quite a while since I invaded your boards but you guys have always been really nice to me despite my being a Ravens fan. So help me out here folks.

Joe Flacco at 18th overall and Ray Rice at 55 overall?

What the hell man... I liked Flacco but even if someone jumped ahead of us, Brohm and Henne both fell to the late second round. Ray Rice was a decent value pick but we have genuine need at corner, offensive line, and linebacker. It is true we have 6 picks in the next 2 rounds but I am just not getting a warm fuzzy feeling so far.

Help me out Browns fans if you would, am I missing something?

MDfan

According to what is coming out of Baltimore, there were 2 other teams looking to jump back into the 1st round at 18 to get Flacco and apparently Cam Cameron is very high on this kid. And maybe they knew they weren't going to get a value need pick at 38th overall in the second so they traded back for additional picks and just went with what they thought was the best player available at 55th. I still don't have a good feeling about these picks and that is the first time that I have ever felt that way with Ozzie Newsome at the helm.

My condelences. The Ravens shouldn't have jumped up. They could have had Brohm or Henne. Both are more polished than Flacco. Gee let me think.....who was on the Ravens team, was a QB, 6'6" and had a acurate cannon arm.....Hmmm. Do you think Ozzie is going through DA withdrawal?

Whats goin on MD? Long time no post. Anyway, Im not real sure what ANY of the AFC North teams were thinking. I was surprised by your Flacco pick, then I was perplexed by your RR pick. I cant belive they didnt have SOMEONE on their board at one of their need positions who graded as well or real close to RR. If they did, then why take RR. Just a year ago all the talk out of Balt. was how good McGahee was and what a great pick up he would be. Really? I dont know. I cant say I hope it works out for you guys, but usually your draft is solid, so you never know.

If it's any help MD,  Joe Flacco is a better QB right now than either Brohm or especially Henne.  Of the three,  you will find out that Ozzie made the right pick.  IMO, your Heisman Trophy winner QB is going to a have a battle on his hands come training camp (and I am a somewhat big fan of Troy Smith).  Someone said it earlier but I think Ozzie just made up for his gaff with Derek Anderson.  The two of them (Anderson and Flacco) are quite similar in stature and skills.

Can't help you with the Ray Rice thing.  That one stumped me.

dogside dont you know EVERY Steelers pick is brilliant and a steal. If you dont belive me, just ask all their fans. They can do no wrong and every pick will pan out perfectly.

(BurghBall is the ONLY one Ive seen even question or second guess any of their picks. Everyone else says they got "the steals" of the draft)

Gmiller, the feeling I am getting from a lot of the Steeler fans is that this was a LOUSY DRAFT. Not all of them but a goodly portion. Mendenhall and Sweed were not necessarily bad picks as they are good players. But I do not think they fit the real needs of the Steelers. For some reason the FO of the Steelers seems to think they have an adequate Oline.
