1st round:

ACC          7
SEC          6
Pac 10       6
Big Ten      4
Big East    2
Big 12       1

Non BCS: 5

Total through 2 rounds:

ACC         11
Pac 10     11  ( most per team)
SEC           8
Big 12       8
Big Ten     8
Big East    4     (fewest per team)

Non BCS:   13

Feel free to correct any errors, but I think they are accurate.

Thoughts? My thoughts are there is a lot of talent all over college football, not just in one conference. Just about every BCS conference usually has a bunch of solid players.

interesting that 19% of first round picks were SEC and 13% were Trojans.

I wasn't keeping a ally or anything, but I was amazed by the sheer volume of talent being drafted from USC. I get the feeling USC is made up of practically all NFL caliber players.

I also noticed that there is a surprising lack of correlation between school success and NFL draftees (with the obvious exception of USC). It really does seem like a kid can play just about anywhere, and if he has the skill and physical talent to play football he can be drafted (most obvious examples being the QB from Delaware and the WR from Appl. State).

Ignoring inter-conference comparison, within the Big East the team that is clearly superior in success the last 3 years hasn't had a single person drafted, while a team that has been decidedly subpar was the team with the highest draft pick.

LOL. You guys are funny if u think u can look at this just 1 yr at a time and make conclusions.

tOSU only had 1 draft pick and that was first rnd.   However, we could have also had 3 additional first rounders in Malcom and Little Animal and Alex Boone.

I'm guessing your "case" is that USC would be an outlier in any conference?
