this is great......
we have the 4th pick in the 3rd round, as well as the 11th.
and there are a BUNCh of good safeties left. barret from AZ state, who ran a decent little 4.35 at 223 pounds, zbikowski from notre dame, quentin demps, and the local favorite, dujuan morgan.
at Dtackle, there still pat sims of auburn, who ive seen ranked 4th on some lists, dre moore of maryland who ran an impressive 4.88 at 305 pounds, and red bryant from texam.
this could end up being an excellent 3rd round. and we have an early 5th rounder too.
go Panthers...
also wanna give a shotout to terrence wheatley, who just got drafted by the pats. he grew up in chapel hill, and i used to train with him. nicest guy in the world and he deserves his success. now he gets to play with the best team in the league.

sorry to everyone that I told i would be on today. Stuff happened and I didn't get home till around 5 and had to leave for work. I like the Stewart pickup, because none of our other needs were there with Harvey being off the board except for OT and They liked Otah. I still think we gave up too much for Otah. Hopefully he turns out to be a beast of an LT. see everyone tomorrow.

Today was so frustrating for me...
WE DON'T NEED A BS WANNABE POWER BACK..
he is hurt right now with a toe injury... and he wasn't the best available RB... Mendenhall was head and sholders above him... even Jones and CJ was better than him but Fox has a man crush on "power" backs so he waisted 2 1st rounders in 3 years on a BAD RB... im sorry Jon Stewart was a Bust and will be seen like that until he is cut...
I like Otah... I think he is going to be a great OT (either RT or LT for us)... but a 2nd 4th and NEXT YEARS 1st!!! eff that... BOOO... fox basically said im either going to win this year or forget the next guy...
Frustrating...
We should have taking Williams or Otah at 13 and waited til the second to see what was there... not reaching for the MOST OVERRATED RB in the draft...

Nice research, tyellington. Bernardrockpoet, there's Dre Moore from Maryland and, like tyellington said, there's Red Bryant from A&M.
To all of you that think we didn't need to draft Jonathan Stewart, let me say this: DeAngelo Williams is a situational runner, not an every down back. Yeah, he averaged over five yards a carry last year, but so did Foster before he got the starting job. Plus, Williams has struggled in pass protection. Pass protection for a STARTING running back is as important as finding running lanes. If you can't block, then the defense knows that when you're in, you're going to run. Then, they'll stack the box. And if you don't run, they'll send a linebacker or safety on a blitz because you can't stop 'em.
Now, the other side of my argument is: Jonathan Stewart is untested at the professional level. There's no guarantees that he'll be able to pass protect either. At least Williams has show ability to be successful at the professional level.
