Just a quick FYI, no real big news. Jerry Meyer, national recruiting guy for Rivals says that when the new rankings come out, Crandall Head will DEFINITELY be a 5 star guy, and a likely top 10 player.

Along with Jereme Richmond that will give Illinois 2 top 10 players in the 2010 class, and 2 likely McD's AA's.

At the Kingwood Classic in Houston last weekend they said Head was one of the most impressive players there, and not only took over and dominated games on offense, he was just as impressive on defense. NICE.

Starting with the 2007 class, we've got good things happening going forward with improved talent. Jamar, Legion and McCamey (when put with the rest of our guys) should by pretty fun to watch NEXT season.

Is he supposed to be better than is brother as in go to the pros and make an impact as a sixth man on a good Rockets team. Thats great news about our class of '10 does anyone know any other players who might commit and how good they are.

ur an idiot....it says he will be re-evaluated....read the article stupid....i thought u illinois guys were smart......and dont assume that being "re-evaluated" means that he is automatically going to be a 5 star cuz only around 20 guys are 5 star players....besides, ur gettin all excited for someone who isnt coming untill 2010, enjoy the wait....ill enjoy watching UNC win more games than U of I year in and year out hahaha

Here, for this time only I won't bother with the links (and read the part in my previous post about NEXT season):

HOUSTON-The Kingwood Classic has its share of impressive prospects, but none have been as impressing as future five-star 2010 prospect Crandall Head.

A high level athlete with a strong physique as well, Head often operates at a different level than other players on the court. His ability to get to the ball and operate in traffic standout along with the multiple ways he can score. Head played all three perimeter positions for the Mac Irving Fire, and he looked comfortable in every situation. Throw in his high basketball IQ, and it's almost scary to think about how good he and fellow Illinois commitment Jereme Richmond could be in the same backcourt.

As good as his brother Luther Head is, it's hard to imagine that as a sophomore he looked as good as Crandall looks at this point. When Rivals.com revisits the 2010 rankings, Head's name will be one of the first names discussed.

And in a question directed to Jerry Meyer's mailbag he said Crandall WILL BE a 5 star. PERIOD. FOOL...

Illini5, we are looking hard at Lenzell Smith.  Jeremy Richmond was quoted when the 2 visited campus as saying of Lenzell, "my future Illinois teammate".  Lenzell has come on lately and looks to be a 4 star or so, (the 2010 class has yet to be fully "scouted" by the experts) but Illinois High School experts have him ranked anywhere from 3 to 6 in the state for 2010.   He  would be a 6 '4 or 6 '5 2 or 3 type player with some serious upside.  The only issue would be, where is this scholly coming from?  Not keeping Semerau for his 5th year?   It sounds like Lenzell is a heavy Illini lean but wants to have the recruiting process go along farther before committing.

To address Orkee the Dorkee, a quote from the Chicago Sun Times, "As per health code, an Chicago Public Health Department investigation is ongoing as to the increase in human genetic material(s) appearing in local McDonalds foodstuffs.  Specifically, test run on samples from 3 specific McDonald franchises show signigicant amounts of seamen in fry oil.  "Someone is clearly jackin' in the grease" said public official Donald Squeeberg.  "if we find this individual, serious fines and possible jailtime could apply.."   McDonalds managers became suspicious when many customers reported their fries tasting odd and smelling of soy.  Local Janette Tingsley explained what she had encountered.  "I got my fries and it was all like, slimy and funky and sh*t.  I said to my girl Kaneesha, "This sh*t is all f**ked up and sh*t!"  I went up to the manager and said, "Who been messin' wid my fries, jack?"  and he copped an attitude and sh*t.  Then I stuck one in his fat face and he smelled it and he got all appologetic and sh*t."  Local McDonalds manager Lou Pottsmith commented on the possible shutdown of his 7 stores, "We take this (CPHD) report very seriously!  I will fire anyone and everyone responsible for these incidents!  I run a clean store and I find this type of thing unacceptable!  We are interviewing all our employees, but if you ask me, I would say this guy we have who goes by the moniker of  'bballstar' or 'bballqueer' or something like that would be my prime suspect."  Officals refused to speculate if this was a case of malicious tampering, or if some sicko UNC fan likes to stick his pud in hot oil and flog the flounder."

Gosh, hope you are not out of a job, you rapist!

DH - The Semrau thing is probably what they're banking on right now. In addition to Lenzelle they're also looking at Demetri McCamey's little brother Andre (whom one scout said can completely control a game without having to score a lot).

Can't have too many of those Lenzelle, Crandall, Richmond type athletes around. Multi-skilled guys that can play multiple positions. That creates a lot of matchup problems.

A lot of discussion about recruits and possible future recruits in previous threads!
