	It was all but definite that he was gone but now it's a sure thing. That cover is cursed and I've seen one NFL player after another try to disprove it and fail miserably. This however breaks the curse, technically since Favre will not have a bad season...take that madden gods!

	yes i agree the madden gods will show brett farve no mercy he thinks he out smarted them........the madden gods will speak brett farve will blow his knee out playing golf in hawaii

	Ha ha, you can't break the curse. Something will happen. I'd laugh if the Packers won the SB the year after Favre retires!

	On the contrary! He's going to go from having one of the best seasons of his career to throwing ZERO touchdown passes this season! That's one helluva curse... :-p

	One faulty assumption is that Brett Favre is trying to beat the curse, it's EA that's trying to do it by putting a retired player on the cover. I wonder how much extra they may have slipped certain people to make sure those retirement papers got filed today and try to officially break the curse. Although, I don't see how the curse really hurt Vince Young last year at all. Oh well
