The Channel 9 website left it open as to whether he quit or was kicked off, saying their sources didn't know.
Phillip's ability to keep focus on football has always been a problem... Or is he upset about something that's wrong with the program... Or is this retribution for being one of the players who went to the Sentinel about the workout leading to Plancher's death...
A lot of speculation. But that's the point. I have felt dread every morning for the past few weeks, worrying what bad news or suspicions will be oozing out of the football program. GOL needs to get this under control. Perhaps Phillip leaving is part of that process. Who knows?
There are rumors going around that it may have been academic, but unfortunately know one knows for sure. I hope our incoming freshman can carry the load
I hope not. If anything, it might be because of an injury. A member of my fraternity told me that they bumped into Smith on campus and found out that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament. It's what I've HEARD. But, who knows...?
It's gotta be either academic, or the injury. He's known to have been injured and unable to practice or play, but that wouldn't get him kicked off the team, he'd have to quit. If he were injured for a whole season he could get a medical redshirt, so it's either academic or he's quit the team.
I am not concerned Weaver looked great in the Spring game, and we have some stud true Frosh coming in. If he doesn't want to be here i don't want him here. If GOL doesn't want him here, i trust his judgement.
Yeah, I hear ya. I can't wait til these big name freshmen get on campus and start to compete at running back. It should make for some very interesting storylines
