I still wonder at what point did it all go wrong for Chad Johnson
It went wrong when he hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent. Forget everyting you've heard about Chad wanting to go to a winner. That is a lie and a smokescreen. If he was really interested in winning, why would he put on a Ravens caps? Why would he beg Parcells to make a trade for him. The Bengals may be a mess, but Miami is worse off in the short term and Baltimore doesn't have a QB. So forget about the winning BS.
Chad wants money. He renogotiated his contract in 2006 which, like most contracts, is front loaded, with most of the money coming at the beginning of the contract. Now that he's in the latter half of the contract, he wants more money. This is a common Rosenhaus ploy. So during the offseason Chad tells the Bengals he wants more money. They calmly explain that they just redid his contract 2 years ago, they're not going to do it again, and by the way Chad, you're the 3rd highest paid WR in the league. Chad and Drew realize the Bengals won't play their stupid "Pay me" game, so they raise the stakes and try to disguise his greed as a desire to win. Do not allow yourselves to be sucked in by this ploy gentle readers.
John Czarnecki makes some very good points about Mike Brown in an article on Fox Sports. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8061310/Ocho-Cinco-ju st-bad-news-for-Bengals
Mike Brown is an old school negotiator who won't be bullied by these tactics or any players. Chad is an idiot and needs to know his audience. Brown and the Bengals are content to let him sit rather than give into his demands. If this is cutting off your nose to spite your face, so be it. As a Bengals fan, I'd like to see them get something for Chad, but as a football fan, I'm glad to see someone stand up to these tactics by Rosenhaus (who I happen to think is greed incarnate).
I said it before, and I'll say it again...F Chad, F his c*cksucker agent, F his hypocricy and crybaby mentality. I hope the Bengals sack-up, don't trade him and ban him from all team activities and facilities for the year. Let him rot at home for a year during the prime of his career and see how much love and money he gets from another team then. As a life long Bengals fan I'd be happy with a 4-12 season if I could see Chad Johnson sitting at home like an impotent douche-nozzle, crying his head off about wanting to be traded.

I am really respecting the Bengals for putting their foot down. I am tired of players who think they can *!tch and moan until they get their way.
Kudos to Marvin for having the Kahones to *!tchslap Ocho Puto and calling his bluff!!

I agree, it's nice to see a team standing by their values. I feel bad for the fans of Cincy though for probably having to put up with 85 for the next few years.

They even told him he isnt going anywhere and he isnt like marvin just sit out if like you say you are. i dont think this the same cj in the past i think drew rosenhaus has poisened him cause rosenhaus wants more money like with shockey. isnt that ironic that rosenhaus is shockey's agent too and now shockey wants more money hmmm...i think chad needs to ditch his agent who's only worth is to suck money out of people and to make players look bad. Maybe chad should get a new agent that doesnt charge so much so he doesnt have to pay him alot. Screw rosenhaus he can suck on my big toe for all i care

Chad Johnson should shut up. I seriously doubt he's not making enough money. He has a great offense around him, he just needs to get it together and hope the Bengals improve their defense.

Chad Johnson Needs to just Shut up and play. I'm sure their are alot of other people who would like to get the chance to just play in the NFL. Let alone make the money he is..He's just a trouble maker and a person who needs to be in the public eye all the time. It' like HEY LOOK AT ME .I'M OVER HERE .Heneeds to just get a life and play the game

Whether they like it or not, Cincy is getting to the point where they HAVE to trade him.
Do you think the Bengals fans are going to be caring about who is right?? They want a winner on the field, not an off-season soap opera that will turn into a disaster come September.
You CAN'T force Chad Johnson to play, so you think keeping him on the bench is going to show him?? He's going to be laughing in their faces when they go 3-13 next season. And to think that he will give in, lower his ego and play is crazy. He'll still be getting paid. So why not wait until 2 months from now, and go out and get some players who will actually help this team win some games.
As for Washington, you don't need Chad Johnson for what you were willing to give up.. You could have easily gotten a Roy Williams for that kind of offer. Cheaper, I'd say. Plus, he's younger than Chad and would certainly help Campbell and Moss out. If I were you guys, I'd battle Dallas to try and rope in Williams before they do.

Good. This is all about not letting a whiney piece of crap get his way. I have no pity for Chad Johnson. These people need to understand that they are EMPLOYEES!!!! Highly paid ones at that! They should be grateful for what they have instead of acting like their plight is so bad. "Boo Hoo! Things aren't going my way!!!! I wanna play elsewhere even though I signed a contract here!!! Whaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" Cry me a F@#$ing river, Chad.

I wonder if the Skins will make this same offer for Anquan Boldin, who says he wants out of Arizona. I wonder if either is worth two first rounders though.

Actually Johnson has to play if he wants to get paid. If he keeps running his mouth the team can suspend him without pay. Chad won't go that far. As someone posted earlier the Bengals would take a $8M cap hit if they trade him. If Chad would restructure his contract, so they wouldn't take that hit, I think they would trade him.

He got 11 million up front bonus money to sign a contract extension through 2011. He has honored his contract through 2008 season, so pro rated he still owes the Bengals around 8 million.
If he writes the Bengals a check for 8 million, I think that would be fair and then they could trade him. If he expects the Bengals to let him walk with 8 million, then keep playing the game.
I admire coach Lewis for telling Chad to do what he said and just sit out. The Bengals don't have to pay his salary and he gets daily fines. Go ahead Chad, just sit out. Also, watch your potential Hall of Fame numbers go down the tube.
It is in Chad's hands. He is no victim here. The next move is his.

The Bengals are idiots 4 trying 2 be the bigger shark in the pool! If anyone thinks this is an ugly situation now wait a little bit longer! Deal him away now 4 that deal the Redskins offered! They will have 2 deal him eventually anyway, he has pissed off his teamates and the rest of the organization from what he has said! If they wait any longer they wont get as good as deal as they have been offered! Besides who do they think they have here Peyton Manning or something? The deal the Redskins offered is alot better than i thought they would get 4 him! Hell look what the Patriots gave 4 Moss, nearly noyhing! And Moss aint no spring chicken compared 2 Ocho No Show! Thats what i call him. Everytime he goes 2 play the Steelers he talks a gang of S**T and never backs it up!

Im gonna have to side with Johnson on this one. He is the supposed #1 wr for the Bengals, yet Whosyamama gets passed to more. I trutfully belive that there is something going on between palmer and johnson, I cant think of another reason why you wouldnt use Ocho Cinco. So if your gonna put him as number one play him as number one.
This is starting to remind me of Barry Sanders and the Lions. Barry wanted to leave the Lions said no, so barry retired, talent wasted. Hate him or love him Ocho is one of the better WR out there. If he were to sit this season it would be a waste of talent. They are alrdy wasting his talent by not utilizing him so why not trade him. Get something good for him. Instead of paying him to sit on his azz.

I'd love to have the abilities of Chad Johnson on my team, and the Bengals' ignorance to that is certainly creating an issue.
And why is Marvin Lewis speaking out against him, telling him to go ahead and sit out the season? Lewis will be lucky if he's not fired before December. He needs to keep his mouth shut because he's part of the issue.
Even with the high level in which Johnson plays at, I wouldn't give up a couple of 1st round picks. The guy's 30, so who knows how much longer he can go at this level (barring injury). A certain 1st round pick would be good along with a 3rd rounder or something like that.
